Meanwhile, all the focus on this incident has overshadowed the day's earlier jockey hijinx which saw David Cohen (Not Now Ashley) nearly send Javier Castellano over the rail on Crushing in the 2nd race. Castellano checked up repeatedly before drawing nearly even inside Not Now Ashley before Cohen abruptly shut him off. Castellano and Chad Brown were none too pleased, and Brown was already unhappy with Castellano's choices last week on firster Self Control. Will be interested to see if Cohen gets a benching for his stunt.

Unfortunately I did not get to hear this until my ride home from work due to the Sirius changes. Mig was terrific in his explanation and separation between fact and opinion. Mig's conclusion is wholly warranted and, unlike others on this board, supported with circumstantial factual evidence. Great work with this issue today Steve!

How about Bailey using Eddington like a piece of meat in the Belmont? Jerry is just a bad guy. Shame no one realized it.

Interesting take by Mig on this. If you remember back in 1981 Angel purposely herded a horse Rich was on for Bob Debonis leaving the gate because Angel felt the new kid was getting too much praise. What made matters worse was Cordero just about trumpeted that he would do it. I would love to hear if Rich remembers that incident.

So after Johnny V. has completely dissed the NY stewards by attempting to circumvent them, and get his case tried in the press, what are the odds he'll get any consideration from them Wednesday?

Anyone else get a laugh reading this continued nonsense and then the signature following it?

I would hear it discussed when I used to spend a lot of time in New York & I agreed with them... I'm sure more than a few on this board realized it also.

You've repeatedly referred to that quote in odd context. I think you need a dictionary.

Because the NY stewards are the almighty be all end all of racing knowledge. Please. Johnny doesn't need permission from a bunch of blind know nothings, who didnt even put up an inquiry sign, to speak his mind. And I don't think he cares what "consideration" they give him Wednesday. Get a clue.

I guess despite dissing (who still uses that word?) them, the stewards did in fact give Velazquez some consideration. Imagine that....

Probably, but at least they did something.

Good thing Johnny V talking to the press got him less consideration with the NYRA Stewards.
