Yup... sounds like they are telegraphing a clear message that they plan to back out

I'm thinking it's like the use of foreshadowing in film.

It could mean if she loses the BC but it could, in Zenyattaspeak*, mean something else.

* TM pending. :D

I don't want to pick on anyone specifically but ummm do we really need posts explaining why there's division? Why it gets so heated?

I have no idea what this thread is about (nor do I want to read it) but Terrell Owens tweeted photos of him and Zenyaddayaddayadda:

Looks like she's bleeding profusely through those front bandages.

letswastemoney 10-17-2010 06:58 PM

Is that blood?? I'm sure there's a logical explanation.

It's cayenne pepper.

Not sure how it could be. Here's a shot from the front: http://plixi.com/p/51327482 Sure seems like it was purposeful. Otherwise why would it be splotchy on top and stripped down below...was it a bizarre attempt at decoration?

Arletta 10-17-2010 07:58 PM

It is Cayenne Pepper... It is used on the bandages to keep the horses from ripping them off..

Ah, thanks. It sure looks weird. I figured there's no way it's blood because she'd be in a vet's care, not posing with Terrell Owens, if there was actually an injury to both fronts with that much bleeding.

How about that, same treatment as a nickel claimer. I would've thought her communication skills would be far superior than the average horse.

I laughed, keeps the squirrels out of the bird seed too.

I agree with most of your points, but.... For a while Rail Trip was the highest mountain out there, sure the connections are lame and should have won the Pacific Classic, but whatever... A lot of people really liked Rail Trip, and thought he would move way up on dirt, BTW being one of them.....What Rail Trip has done since, should not take away from his form when they did duck him. Win the Classic and still not be HOY, that is totally absurd. The group is deep, all the major players will be there.... If she runs 2-3 and anyone but QR, Blame, L@L win it, she still might be HOY.

They were ducking Rail Trip. I don't care how good he looked, it's Rail Trip. It was ridiculous then and even more so now. But that is what they do. What was so special about his form before that makes it logical to duck him? Because he could run a little?

Sorry, I don't believe in rewarding ducking and making 1 real start per year. You do and I find that absurd.

I dont think HOY is about who you duck and race. If she wins she is still undefeated and will have defeated the best group of the year. She also showed up at Oaklawn.

It's only a slap in the face if she wins the Classic and they still give it to someone else. If she loses to another legitimate HOY finalist fair and square, sorry, you can't give it to her with a straight face at that point. The award goes to the horse, Jerry, not you. If she doesn't get it, she'll go right on happily eating hay. She knows she's the queen. It's human beings that are getting all twisted in knots about whether she does or doesn't have her name on a trophy. She's got Champion Older Mare sewn up anyway.

BL has been beating better horses than Z all year. I am a fan of both horses. I strongly disagree that Z is that much faster at all. There is no evidence at all that would make that believable. It is an opinion that will never be proven though, so you are entitled. Sad that BL's best is 10F and she likely won't get to do it again.

Z is going in the Classic. Rachel faced males as a 3yr old last year. Why is BL not going in the Classic then?

Frankly I wish she were. Might get beat but it would show some balls. She looks like a really small filly though. Maybe next year. Nice to keep a traveler, running all over the country, beating all kinds on all different surfaces.

Oh she showed up at Oaklawn? Give her the award....forget the BC. Just give it to her now.
