Didn't "Roger the Dodger" get a ring or two too, dala?

Birds clearly have some major issues, slot … but Mike is a better qb now than he was in Atl.

Comparing Vick to these guys is ridiculous.

Vick=Bobby Douglas.

MUCH bettah comparison.

When Kolb does come back how effective will he be looking over his shoulder for the hook when he makes a bad play. Eagles unfortunately sold out their future for the short term.. My perdiction is Reid is done after this year.

Now I know you didn't watch the game. Blitz after blitz? Really? If they were blitzing so much, wouldn't more than one of the five Detroit sacks or three of the 11 QB hits have been from a non-defensive lineman? Detroit is hardly a blitzing team.

I think you meant Green Bay. Kolb played against Green Bay the first week of the season. When did Philly play against Pittsburgh, Baltimore or the jets?

I will agree about the worst line in football part. When you make Detroit look like the 85 bears, there are some serious protection issues.

I thought I had read that Green Bay was the 2nd ranked Defense last year. Could be wrong.

If anything, he is one of the most multi dimensional players in the game. That is one thing you can't dog him for.

Sorry, i couldnt resist that last line.

headlines in the Philly newspaper today:

"TOP DOG"

only in Philly!!

:tro:

Kolb got bent over on this one. One headache was all it took. Had he not been hurt, he'd still be the guy & we still would have beat Detriot (sorry slot)

Our o-line is just so bad, that had to be a major factor in this decision. Maybe Reid was doing Kolb a favor by not letting him become a vegetable.

they were throwing zero blitzes out there (blitz more than can be blocked)

You guys could have rushed 3 guys the whole game and still had 5/6 sacks.

slotdirt 09-22-2010 08:13 AM

And that's what they did. The Lions would be retarded to blitz that often because they literally don't have a soul who can cover man-to-man in the back seven. The front four was creating the pressure throughout the game.

And yes, you guys could have had anybody out there playing quarterback and still won.

I kind of think that they are committed to Kolb for the future. That being said, with the state of mediocre that is the NFC East (all of a sudden out of the blue), maybe they feel that they could sacrifice Kolb for one more season at this point and make some sort of run with Michael Vick. You would think that even though he has played in regualr season games before, that this was going to be a big learning expierence for Kolb in his first full season as the starting QB. They were probably hoping that Kolb would play well enough to get them to a wildcard spot in what seems to be a transition year for the birds. But now with Dallas starting 0-2 and the Giants and Redskins not playing like world beaters, the birds realize that they have a legitimate shot at winning the division with maybe a more seasoned guy even though he is most likely a short term solution.

That's stupid.

They were all qb's first.

Being mobile was an added dimension.I think the point was that someone like Vick never won a ring.

They also gave up 51 points against Arizona in the playoffs. They're good but overrated.

Reid also would not guarantee that Kevin Kolb will remain with the team after the Oct. 19 trade deadline, despite touting Kolb's "bright future" in the NFL.

"I can’t predict anything down that far, nobody in this league can do that, that’s ridiculous," Reid said. "The future, we’ll just have to see."

WTF went so horribly wrong for Kolb in less than a half of play that now the coach can't guarantee he won't be traded...
