This is f*ng ridiculous, that makes it clear, total speed bias. I would like to know what Maragh was doing on Qualia, Durkin said pulled up, but it looked more like gave up to me.

Ok now I'm convinced. DD Bulldogger/Miners Reserve

tiggerv 08-28-2010 04:44 PM

Even though I hit, the track is ridiculous.

the_fat_man 08-28-2010 04:47 PM

This is an UNPLAYABLE track. SPEED and INSIDE can't lose. Anything else is running on quicksand. I realize NYRA wanted to do something special for RA this weekend but this is about as BUSH as it gets.

And it's not like the turf is playing fairer.

I agree with everything you said here, except I find it hard to believe that NYRA souped up the track for Rachel. The way it is playing cannot be helpful to NYRA. This track really puts a damper on what should have been a great day as it has become virtually unplayable.

Hopefully it will create some playbacks and some to go against (Rightly So, Warbling) in the future, but this is tough to stomach right now on such a big day.

How Bulldogger is 9-2 on the board right now is beyond me, moves way up on this BS track. Interesting to see if JV just tries to go right down the pike with Discretely Mine and refuse to give it up to Bulldogger.

Use the bias to your advantage and try to make $$$. It's not as though the horses who are winning due to the speed bias are chalk.

I understand what you are saying Ian, but it is not always that easy. At this point all the riders have to realize the serious bias and it would figure there are going to be some serious battles to get the lead right now. I would think that JV has to try to gun DM and try to get position over bulldogger, but I would expect that everyone inside of him has the same thought. What you end up getting are races being run with horses being put in unpredicable spots leading to unpredicable results once the bias is readily apparent IMO. Do you go all in on Bulldogger here?

Nice job on Dynaslew, BTW.

the_fat_man 08-28-2010 05:00 PM

This is an all around comedic day. In the 8th at WO, the stake, NOBODY goes with the 1, and she wires against better horses. In the 9th, the two chalks, who, figure to have an advantage since they've gone the distance (or close to it) get involved in a pace thing and a sprinter cruises by late to pick up the pieces. This **** really figures.

Well. Here's the way I see this. I figure that someone who has DAILY/WEEKLY/MONTHLY/YEARLY, etc, experience with a track, really should be able to 'tweak' it to specification -- or something approximating it. If the track super didn't get this track to play this way on orders from NYRA, they really need to fire him. Everyday I sit here and read **** against POLY. This **** doesn't happen on POLY. This is the **** that makes DIRT SUPERIOR to any other surface?

Thanks

I like D'Funnybone, but if the bias holds up, I would imagine that Bulldogger would be the play.

That one hurt badly for me. Can't believe she was that price.

You'd think with this bias that Bank Merger would be a little bit better than 8:1. Talk about value.
