This idea about horses not liking the inside is just a ****in joke. It's LAZY training. As an athlete, which would you prefer: being INSIDE and doing a ton less work or being outside and losing your lunch?
When I was on the track 30 years ago, I remember one day walking by a barn and noticing a couple of, relatively, BIG exercise riders. I inquired what their role was and was told that they were there for the horses that need extra 'special' handling. :rolleyes: Then again, back in those days you actually had jocks that were able to take hold of a horse and pretty much carry it to the wire: Cordero, Pincay, Antley, among others. Today we have a bunch of pussies that are twirling the reins trying to get their horse to straighten out rather than taking a strong hold and busting it with the whip. Times have changed. The DRIVE: a lost art.
