She again ran 2/5 faster than the boys, and these boys were better than the other ones. I may have to reconsider which of Rachel's races was more impressive:confused:

Anyone care to knock Rachel now, she would of won that race by open lengths

Travis Stone 06-12-2010 04:41 PM

To run down Battle Plan off those fractions is pretty strong... and he'll get 10f no problem. Very impressive race by Blame.

Agree, he had every reason to get beat chasing that pace.

Makes you wonder what's up with Regal Ransom.

Not to mention he was 3-4 wide around both turns.

I believe he's coming back in the Suburban.

Regal Ransom stole the Super Derby, Blame ran huge to nearly catch him, and he's progressed since. I think he's legit... Battle Plan is no slouch, especially with an easy lead.

Suddenly, the handicap division has a pulse again, though weak, it's a pulse none-the-less. Hopefully Zenyatta will decide to join it at some point.

What she could have done is quit running scared and actually risk losing by trying the Foster where the competition measured up. Just because the "other" camp is afraid of a challenge doesn't mean these guys need to suddenly get shy. Impressive but she beat nothing. I hope they step out next time- win or lose.

Definitely. I hope for her sake, Horse of the Year isn't decided before then.

She needed a confidence builder. It was the right thing to do for the horse.

The gloves are off after that race

Rachel lost two in a row and needed a race like this before she could step back into the deep end. Zenyatta has won 17 in a row and they still won't even go after Rail Trip. ZOMG, 129 pounds and two more mediocre California horses on a synthetic track, oh brave new world.

Zenyatta has won 16 in a row. I hope you're psychic and already telling us the result of the Vanity.:)

I was only talking about this race. She needed the win for the fans but more importantly for herself.:)

Running scared? She lost twice this year to mediocre fillies. They should've gone in the Foster off of those two races? Slightly different circumstances than a horse on a 16-race winning streak.

This is a very key point and as much as I would like to see her beat up on the boys again would it be wise to start laying out a competitive schedule against them ?

If their ultimate goal is to win the BCC I would think they would want something left in the tank.
