You really can't make this crap up. BP should be on the hook for every penny, but Republicans are keeping in tact the $75 million liability cap. $75 million is a drop in the bucket for these morons.

It will be a crime of monumental proportions if BP pays only 75mil!:mad:

They have to pay for all of the environmental clean up. The 75 mil cap is for paying businesses who lost their business because of the spill.

but either way, yeah, its a crime if tax payers have to even pay a dime for these people's errors.

Obama has asked Congress for $10 MM to pursue criminal and civil charges against BP - guess where the $10 MM comes from.

I saw that BP is offering grants to businesses that have been affected by the spill....small consolation.
I'm not an advocate of "green" but DAMN, this is a monster problem as far as clean up and probable effects to natural settings etc etc.

bad math riot. you can fit five 4" pipes down just one axis of a 20" pipe. that's assuming 20" is the interior dimension of the larger pipe and 4" the exterior dimension of the smaller. which isn't the case. but pretending it is, you still have a lot of 20" pipe left after you do that.

4" pipe area is the radius (2') x 3.14 squared= 39.4 square inches

20" pipe area is the radius (10") x 3.14 squared = 986 square inches

that's about 4%, not 20%.

i get this. it's not a completely unreasonable reaction.

i just wish people looked at their own responsibility rather than just blame either bp or the government. we live on cheap oil.

That's not my math - that's THEIR math ;) Of course, they also say that only 5,000 gallons a day are spilling, and they are pulling 1,000 gal a day from the draft pipe.

As an aside: today I could have turned left into the BP Station, or right into the Speedway. I conciously chose Speedway.
