Are you really saying that these people are either gay or straight, and despite what they think they feel, they absolutely must fall into one of two categories of rigidly defined sexual orientation.

That is absurd.

Yes there is no such thing as being born bisexual.

Those two quotes in order basically sum up the confusing night I've had so far.

Scav bothered to respond to a repetitive height joke for Kev, but left the fact that Big Brown's new nickname at the stud farm message board is "bonerz4scavzgirl," go untouched.

Really, the entire premise of the thread is ludicrous to me anyway, so let's just have some fun, laugh at Timm, and just overuse the word "albatross."

At least with the gay baboon article ( no..I didn't read it) you were quoting something of merit...This is just your shot gun opinion on a subject I don't think you, or very many of us posting really know that much about.

Unless you really are Bi-Sexual and know that you weren't born that way.

Yes it is my opinion....I realize it was a long article with some big words, try it sometime. Best of luck with Obama care.

Okay.
Timm would definitely have sex with an albatross....as long as it is a female albatross.....because Timm isn't gay.

I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

herkhorse 03-31-2010 08:18 PM

I witnessed an albatross last year, then gave the guy who got it a belly bump and a hug, but neither of us are gay.

LOL

Did you swing your shaft and head at your balls or put your friend's balls in your pocket that day at all?

I mean, not that that's gay or anything.

Being gay would exclude him from his long-awaited invitation to the RNC... not that there's anything wrong with that!

No, But I did yell "it went in the hole!" and I'm not ashamed to admit that one single stroke cost me 14.00.

it's more a dimmer switch. some are in the 90-100% range and those people probably don't have much of a choice. some are closer to 50% and actually do.

those that think you can pray gay away probably haven't thought too deeply about where their belief comes from. with rare exception, gays have been discriminated against for thousands of years. who "chooses" such a difficult path for themselves? what drives that more difficult choice if it isn't biology?

Oh my God.

i'm really not sure why it matters whether it's a choice or not, altho i also feel that you're born that way. i never made a conscience decision on what i like-whether it's men, liver and onions, or reality shows on television. i just know if someone asks if i would like liver for dinner, the answer would be no. to me, it tastes awful. i know it's supposed to be good for me, but i still can't convince my taste buds that it's something i should like. ugh

at any rate, it all comes down to people needing to mind their own business. i don't want anyone dictating to me who i should or can love, or who i have in my bedroom.

and it may not be a gene-all fetuses start out as female, the chromosomes dictate the growth of outies rather than innies at a certain stage of formation-i think it's got something to do with that change during gestation.

Break it down into desire versus behavior.

I think the question needs to be broken down into two pieces: homosexual desire versus homosexual behavior. As a starting point in a philosophical argument, I would assert that:

1. Most people are born straight, and some are born homosexual. There have been biological findings concerning the development of the hypothalamus in men, showing a correlation between homosexual desire and a hypothalamus more like that of a woman. Being biological in origin, the degree to which an individual is different from "straight" behavior, and the age of discovery, can vary.

2. Homosexual behavior can be a choice, especially when you consider prison as an example. The stereotypical womanizing criminal, who today has many girlfriends. This man will be locked up for 20 years starting today, and somehow later will be participating in homosexual behavior. He is not biologically predisposed to having homosexual desires, and may never have participated in the behavior had he not been sent to prison.

3. If we treat the desire as separate from the behavior, it would seem that those having homosexual desires would see it as natural to have homosexual behavior. There also may be those who have homosexual desires who resist the behavior, for whatever reason: guilt, social ramifications, religion, etc. Then there are those who are straight, who do things more associated with homosexuals while in prison, which, frankly, I do not understand.

sometimes I wonder if that is a dominance thing, not really a sex thing even though its a sex act. Kind of like a dog mounting another dog for dominance.

I also wonder how much it occurs. Probably less than what we are lead to believe with all the "dont drop the soap" stuff we hear on tv.
