that's very true. i think some on here forget just how seldom a horse goes without losing. christ, i'd hate to see how some on here would have treated citation or dr fager!
but, i do think that jack/ass realize they were pushing rachel too quickly-they're backing off and regrouping. when she's ready, she'll run. then we'll see.

We've had our difference in views but you and I know if Zenyatta pulled out, this pro RA forum would be all over it. Really there is no excuse barring her being injuried to skip this race off a 3/4 length loss to a gr.2 winning mare in a prep race that was designed to give her fitness. The race was moved 1 week back to 1 month in between races to accomodate her, yet this still isn't enough to lure the HOY to race for 5 million dollars. Barring bending over I don't know what else can be done, you may find this very excusable but I am sure there are a few Rachel supporters that are getting tiresome of this act. If they are well good on them for having their eyes finally opened.

Would I, though? That's what matters when you're responding to me.

Whatever they want to do with their horse is good enough "excuse" for me, which has basically been my stance the entire time.

Count me still "on the bad side." Though I'm with miraja that I wish they would've waited to see how she was coming out of it before saying that. Knowing them, it's not even official yet.

Wow … didn't realize Shirreffs owned Zardana…

He doesnt call the shots, that much has been pretty obvious since the day JJ bought her.

He doesn't own Zardana and he sure isn't the one that cost anybody to lose anything. The owner od the horse ultimately calls the shots and it aint him.

The problem with this theory is that her race should help get her ready to run next month, not hamper it. Of course this is taking the situation at face value.

Exactly. That's the part I don't get. They should have at least waited a week to see how she's doing.

Hopefully, Rachel will be back sometime later in the spring or summer and we can see this go down.

Wouldn't you be pissed if they waited around for another week or two before making the announcement?

Me too.

Lol … was being sarcastic

Common knowledge that Zetcher wanted little z to crash RA's powderpuff-fest.

And quite a crash it was. :tro:

The Apple Blossom could still be Zardana Vs. Zenyatta. At least that would be more entertaining than the Pacquio vs Clottey fight last night.

I'd have to imagine that Zenyatta's not going to Oaklawn on April 9th either, right? If they're going to take her out of her comfort zone, I'd think it would be for something more worthwhile than running against Careless Jewel or some other slob.

This could have been billed as the battle of the big dogs, plus the new shooter to spice things up.

BANG!

Hear that? Racing shoots itself in the foot, yet again.
