Just got in from Chicago. Another great day - I am still grinning from the winner's photo. It was great to see everyone. Paula Simon seems to be our good luck charm. KNS looked so good. She was so game coming down the stretch. I was watching the head on shot and she looked tired (a small staggerfest towards the end) but would not let the other Chester House pass her. It was great to see Cherie, too. Of course, I took a bunch of pictures. I'll get them up tomorrow. There are even some photos of people this time!

Congrats to all and many thanks to Steve and Team Simon.

Just watched the replay... Hadn't noticed last night, but Dooley botched the call in the shadow of the wire... He calls KNS "Trigger Fish Lane", whom he had on the brain for the whole second half of the race. He takes the drama out of the finish with the mis-call. (But not the pleasure..)

Steve I didn't hear the call live but with Thorton in the unique lime and blue there was no mistaking it was her coming home. Sharpest colors in racing even with Timmy's shocking blue boots.

One observation about the poly is that so many horses that handlke it fine in the am dont in the pm which has got me twice this meet. But she should at least gain a little experience from being in behind horses getting around two turns.

Kickin was very game and we were all proud of her. As Benny said she can be mental (she was trying to be bad in the winners circle and was terrible in the test barn when the lady vet was trying to draw blood) but when she sets her mind to running she can be pretty tough at the lower levels. Good time was had by all as usual.

time for some guiness? she didn't look comfortable at all from what i saw-i wasn't sure if it was the surface or all the time spent hemmed in on the rail.

i enjoyed watching kickin run yesterday-she was 'on' for sure. congrats to the team.

I will be back at AP tomorrow for a friend's horse, Let's Go Mambo. :tro:

It's weird you say that, because when I was watching replays, he seemed off ALL day on Saturday. A couple of really wrong calls, totally missing horses, shouting a horse's odds that were wrong...

Really uncharacteristic for him, to notice that many little things on one day for a guy who is usually close to flawless.
