Then I met Chuck.

"If you don't like war, you're anti-American! If you're smart, you're a fag! If you're artistic, you're even gayer!"

Benjamin Moore himself couldn't fathom a brush this broad.

are you angry because I associated you with your liberal brothers and sisters? Are you embarrassed by them? Why the anger God?

Another liberal who seems to not actually like being called a liberal. Funny how BWS makes the generalizations about conservative=anti-black or anti-gay yet the ridiculousness is directed at me. Oh you idealistic intellectual you! Since journalism is seemingly dead you are already sharpening your skills to take over for Olberman when he gets canned! I knew you were sharp despite your implied left leanings.

the counter argument:

Liberalism is a sickness. It may not be your fault that you are infected. Hits you early when you are young and dumb. Starts to wear off as you realize the world is not flat and kumbaya is not the national anthem. Remember Nancy Pelosi is your leader. Jim Jones was cut from the same cloth. Smooth Operator is on your side. The good Reverends Al and Jesse and Louis and Wright are your spiritual guides. Blago is a Dem. Ted Kennedy. Al Gore. Tipper. These are your people. And yeah we know all about Bush and Rush....

Cannon Shell 04-16-2009 09:46 PM

Hey at least you guys are seemingly all Bushed out!

except for Smooth operator and he is a USC man so we will forgive him...

hi_im_god 04-16-2009 09:50 PM

at the very least i hope steve is making bank off off this clarence darrow vs. william jennings bryant debate.

it should be carved in marble.

Call me a liberal all day, I don't give a sh it. What I don't like is this ridiculous anti-intellectualism and hypocrisy perpetuated by people like you. You blame us for changing the subject, but how did we get here in the first place (talking about the CNN reporter)? By Jim changing the subject from how god damn stupid this whole 'protest' was.

See what I did there? I called it stupid. Not 'anti-american'. Just because I disagree with someone, I'm not gonna be a complete dipshit and call them treasonous or some other nonsense for exercising basic American rights.

So you admit you are aiming for Olberman?

Hypocrisy is our sides gig, man. Your side loved the Cindy Sheehan show and all the other professionaly protested antiwar and anti bush productions. Now when people are protesting taxes (which is far more traditional in this country than any of these other protests) it is somehow stupid? That would be hypocrisy.

I would like to hear some ideas on that. What did they
come up with at the rally besides we pay too much in

Lets make this thread into a true tea party type discussion.
Since maybe a lot of us just finished doing our taxes and are
pondering/thoughtful types, how
did you guys decide to make it simple and fair?

The Fair Tax seems like a good plan.

Jim -- love hanging out with you at the Park, and love that we can never touch this **** when we're there... -- but also, come on, I'm loving that you have no idea how a TV interview works. If you're not into your point within 10 seconds, you're just wasting time. Everyone of every political stripe knows that. Teabaggers apparently do not.

I'll expect that you'll look into it a bit more (a simple Google search should provide more than enough evidence that this "tea party" got hijacked by racist and homophobic groups too...and sadly, without disowning them, you're stuck with them. Pretend it's not true all you want. You either own them or you don't.....). I have much more respect for those protesting govt. spending and tax rates that are lower than Reagan's (!!!!!), as foolish as it may be, than I do for those who jumped on the bandwagon. You may wish to turn a blind eye from them and pretend this was just an anti-tax protest....but you're sorely mistaken if you don't think lots of haters jumped on board. So you may have "read some ****," but I'm not the one in control of your out of control, hate-on-everyone-different-than-you tea parties dude, that's your ****, not mine.

Wouldn't be effing hilarious if it didn't keep getting backed up every day. Maybe instead of an "Obama sucks" thread, we're long overdue for a thread full of nothing but examples of Repubs being shameless gay haters and racists.

I'm so full of examples, you could pay me $8/hr to post it and I'd be rich if I didn't need to sleep.

I'm so tired.

These people are exhausting. Normally Chuck and Jim are tolerable...at least reasonable. Throw in a bit of teabagging and they all lose their minds....

Can't say I blame them, I've been known to lose my mind in the face of solid, public teabagging every now and then.

Since I need sleep, I'll resign myself to trophies for J :tro: :tro: :tro: :tro:

I heart Brian and I hope it makes the conservatives mad uncomfortable.

Hate to burst your bubble dude, but a little gay political love affair is totally not even noteworthy when there is teabagging to be done....

Really, by their rule of thumb, you gotta put all your nuts in the right basket.

Not so sure I can help. But if I can, let me know, I'm willing to try.
