Eggplant in Italian...you know something Pants..

"In standard Italian the word for eggplant is melanzana, a word also used disparagingly to denote a black person, and in Italian-American slang derived from the southern dialects, the disparagement is often abbreviated to "mulie."

Melanzana i think is correct but the slang version among southern italians is Mulie. Just a little bit derogatory to a black person but im sure it wasnt intended that way.

mulie would derive from "MULIANNE" (pronounced "mool-yan").

Note, don't listen to KGB on election notes. VIRGINIA goes DEMOCRAT

GPK 11-04-2008 11:01 PM

I don't totally agree with Bush being soley responsible for Reps. losing, although it played a big part. If some career Democrat Senator or other white bread polictian got the nomination and ran on the platform of "change", I feel sure most americans would have rolled their eyes and thought "here we go again" and dismissed it as more bullsh*t. But the fact he was young, half black and preached changed, people believed it.

As I type this, just announced Obama won Virginia.

I WAS WRONG:wf :wf :wf

Coach Pants 11-04-2008 11:02 PM

Obama is declared president
