Ok well I just finished up “Not by a long shot” by td thornton, thought it was a great book (even though he kinda floats out to left field with some of his paragraphs).
Heading to vegas next month and I figured I’d try to hone my “handicapping” skills a little.

Exotic Betting is #1 on my list, but I don’t wanna order only 1 book from BN.com, might as well get a few, but nothing is really jumping out at me. Here are some others I was thinking about

Value Betting at the Racetrack by David Johnson
Expert Handicapping, Revised Edition by Dave Litfin
Bet With the Best II by Daily Racing Form (I have read volume 1)

I read the handicapping contest book and it was ok. I got a couple of little things out of it. I guess if you are going into enter a lot of contests it might be worth while. If you aren't it's probably a waste.
I also tried honing my skills a bit by taking a little reading refresher course. I read exotic betting and thought I got alot out of the book. Then I read handicapping 101 by Brad Free. Sure there was alot of things that I understood already. But there were some other things that I thought I got out of the book. Mainly in the speed and class areas. Also I will look at firsters different now. They were both informative and quick easy reads. Now if I could find a book on how to get me out of the house for the weekend, I would be in good shape.
