Has there been any rain since Saturday?

Interesting to see Romp back less than two weeks after falling (???) in his last effort.

He should like the grass though...

Brief thunderstorm Sunday and there might be the same tonight. It won't affect the turf.

just my opinion...

Sumphin - multiple winner, winner over the track...
Romp (will be close to SM on the board) - multiple winner, i know 2-21, but 5-5 in the money on the BEL lawn...
Personal Good (will also be close to SM on the board) - high beyer in the field
Dancing Tin Man - your favorite...
Saint Barr - hasn't been higher than 4/1 in his last 10 races, and has been favored in his last 3 money burning efforts, but they keep betting him...

now that we've completely over analyzed this, it will pour and be taken off the turf, though I hope not...

honestly after DTM, I think the other 4 and Stormy Mirage could end up anywhere from 7/2 to 8/1...

blackthroatedwind 06-10-2008 04:30 PM

Here's the mistake you're making.....you discovered Stormy Mirage's obvious merits. Everybody else will as well. He's not exactly a clever horse. I'm not trying to be an ass....I'm just pointing it out.

I happen to agree with you that he's interesting. Whether or not he beats the favorite is another story. Obviously if I thought he would be anywhere close to his ML I would be intrigued. I don't, however, see the race that way. Maybe I'm wrong....but my guess is the betting will reflect his solid chances of winning. Frankly, if it doesn't, I'm guessing we're the ones who are wrong.

I had that exact same thought as I was putting together the list...

though I still think the time off and the fact that those other horses seem to always take money; Sumphin - 3/2, 9/2, 5/2; Romp - 7/5, 2/1, 2/1; and Saint Barr - 4/5, 3/2, 6/5 we might get a solid price...interestingly, with all of the talk about DTM being the obvious favorite, he is almost never bet as he's only been favored once in his last 12 races, and that was as part of an entry...

I don't see anyone who's going to go 22, 45 and 2/5ths even though there is other speed signed on. Lastly, the winner of her last is a lot better than she ran on the 22nd, trust me I know. And as everyone can see Lost Without You came back to win last time. So, I give this second off the layoff the big thumbs up.

I think the connections, if they look at the race, will scratch La Ransom in order to run her entrymate.

The scratches come out tomorrow. I don't understand....how would I know of scratches?

I'm just guessing they will scratch La Ransom. If the connections look at the race, and have a pulse, they will scratch her. Whether or not they do is another question.

Darrrr7 06-10-2008 06:21 PM

Reyana's jet will be scratched. he won on Friday

I think that was already posted....he's also still a she.

asudevil 06-10-2008 08:37 PM

Romp is a single....save the the spreading for other races. Again, Romp is a single.

1 Sumphin, 7 Personal Good 8 Dancing Tin Man 11 Saint Barr

Thats not to say the 11 is more likely to win; but the crowd loves to bet Saint Barr every race.

It's not always so obvious.

Apparently their lack of pulse did not allow them to look at the race because they are absolutely running the wrong horse.

hurricanefrank 06-11-2008 10:56 AM

Mine or Who's scratch

I totally agree. Given the pace scenario it seemed a no-brainer to run Mine Or Who's. Perhaps the post position draws played a part in the decision.
