I just hope every single person who has applauded this thread has also donated to horse rescue organizations. My guess is some haven't. I do, however, know that at least one person who finds this thread insultingly ridiculous has done what he could for this situation.
We get it, MissStormCat cares about every race horse that dies annually, even though my guess is she knows little to nothing about many of them, or even necessarily how or why they perished. That's great....that's her thing on this and other websites. However, how many times do we need to be reminded of this? Some of us think it is less often than we actually are....some don't. Once again that's what makes the world go round. But that doesn't mean dissenters have to keep their mouths shut......haven't we honestly heard enough of this sh it from the person who has destroyed this once great country of ours?

Well if this is how message boards work, and some people get on soapboxes to call out others, let me step up and say that this is post is crap. You claim to know peoples intentions, whether or not they are being disingenuous, or whether or not they know anything about the horses, and that people who post on this thread better also donate to horse charities. WHY? who made you so all knowing and all important? I thought the thread was just to relect for a moment on the memories good or bad about the horses that left us this year. For some reason you seem to imply there is some ulterior motive.
Dissenters, or dissenter? Its you and one other completely obnoxious poster.
What is the dissenting point of view to reflection on a list of horses who have gone down in action this year? Should we just forget them like yesterdays garbage? Why are you compelled every time to voice dissenting opinions on such a non-threatening, harmless, and respectful thread? You even managed to tie in politics in a clumsy way, as if this is a free speech issue.
Yes I know, the dissention is ostensibly based on the clutter that threads like this make. Thats also BS because the biggest example of board clutter is the 25 threads per week regarding the NYRA dilemma. I'm sure there are others like myself who couldn't care less, and without getting on a soapbox simply ignore the threads, rather than cluttering those threads with pointless dissention and complaints about clutter.
So as a dissenter you are making a free speech case, but the basis of your dissent seems to be "how many times do we need to be reminded of this?", which sounds like you want to limit the free speech of others. Sounds hypocritical to me.
