I am probably not going to do it BUT it can and would work. Look at Sumwon's partnership, exactly the same thing, same investment just one you get an animal, the other you get some juice for four hours.

None of this should go down without Steve's blessing anyways

I also would say Steve would have to give the ok before I would join in on it

I would be another that would buy in for $50 shares, up to $200 or so. I would contribute to the fund if there was simply an explaination of the selections by the committee, but wouldn't want any say in the selections.

The Bid 07-02-2007 09:52 PM

Youre a dumbass. If you knew me youd know the last thing Im worried about is welching a 100 dollar bet you pecker. You better talk to your buddy before you talk out of turn on me welching any bet, or debt.

I don't agree. People knew what they were getting involved with, and they knew the possible outcomes. Do you honestly think that people that would get into this would EXPECT to hit a pick six? The sun was shining on my ass three weeks ago, and honestly, I'll probably never hit another one in my life. Today I wanted to spend $2500 and I would have hit 1 race out of 6.....

All something like this does is give people that don't want to get nuts and drop 1k into a ticket the opportunity to hit something, this is alot like Rupert did today, his friend played a $3800 ticket or something, and he bought $50 of it. He owned 1.3% of that ticket and if they would have hit, he would have gotten back $7488 on that $50

ALostTexan 07-02-2007 09:54 PM

I would have to say, though, that a great deal of thought and paperwork would be in store. I don't know the legality of such a partnership in these bets, but I think it would probably have to be set up like a horse-ownership partnership.

I just wouldn't want it to get to a point that we would take down a pot like today, and then have to consider the legalities after $500K+.

I can picture the DerbyTrail pick six syndicate now.

take the dialog between pgrdn and the bid, and times by 100.

DaHoss: you bring up a valid point....not every venture succeeds! The Partners were fortunate to have Chuck, and it turned out well for the initial foray into horse ownership! On the P-6 deal.... there has to be trust...much of it should've built up during DTs' Inaugural Year! We pretty much know the players...and the payers! The share thing would be the best way to play and not feel badly in not hitting the big one....it is entertainment after all

I cant take the foolishness of PGA, hes knocked around this bet for months and he doesnt have the slightest clue what hes talking about.

So you paid? You admitted yourself you did not pay up. Did you forget?
Or just "I will get to it?"

I would feel guilty as hell if I were you. Somewhere along the line people have to be able to trust one another. And then you come along. Dont put up money if you cant pay. Just keep your mouth shut if you cant come through. Everyone on this board should pressure you to DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

Dude come on....You are telling me that every bet you put in you expect to hit? I'll tell you this, I hope I hit 10% of my wagers on the day because I know I'll be up money. I risk on certain things becuase if they hit, I'll get paid, but I don't expect to hit them

Guys, you are jacking a thread that is meaningful....

The Bid 07-02-2007 10:03 PM

Listen buddy, the deal was taken care of, just because you dont know the particulars is no reason to get shitty or stupid.

I cant even get into the most ignorant part of your message telling me if I cant handle the hundred I shouldnt bet it.

Sorry Scav, I cant take it on the 100 dollar welched debt. Its got me steamed

it doesn't have to hit every pick six to be successful, of course every time you play you play to win, but you're going to lose for sure. but I would think playing with a larger bankroll will really up the hit rate compared to going it alone with $100 or $200. Not sure if it would work myself but I'm willing to try.

Scavs people need to be aware of who they can and cannot trust. The vast majority of the people on here I would be very comfortable with. Sorry for the interjection. But there are people who do not honor obligations. Carry on. It is an interesting thread and I apologize.
