15 US states, Canada and GB have produced Derby winners. The least populous being Montana, home of the mighty Spokane.

Name the 4 Virginia breds to win the Derby, one of them is considered an all time great.

Pleasant Colony was another one...

One more, from the modern era. Hint: His owner breeder was one of the most respected and beloved of "big time owners." His trainer was one of the greats of the game.

Very interesting that Goodbye Halo won the Kentucky Oaks in 1988 with Pat Day aboard... one year later, Pat Day would be beat in the Derby riding Easy Goer by another offspring of Halo, Sunday Silence.

Both Goodbye Halo and Sunday Silence were sent to Japan.

EXCELLENT...

Additionally Summer Squall produced Charasmatic and Summerly

I believe the closest to winning it was; Casual Lies in '92, trained by Shelley Riley

1937, Mary Hirsch sent out No Sir to finish 13th. Mary was well bred for training, being "by" Max Hirsch. She trained Travers winner Thanksgiving in '38.
