ROOT,why they holding her back so much? She breaks 1st,and then they are taking big holds.Look how much horse he is keeping her from using on the backstretch. All his weight to hold her.For what? Both times that they have done that, and she has not stayed in the bridal when they need her to go by.Got to let her smoke early.I thought sure they were gunna do that.He had the horse (early) to bury that 6,but he takes huge hold.Must be Polanco's way of training(getting them to rate just off somebody.)Ain't the way her half sibs won though.Ain't the way pops won either. This Jaklin's Last Kin(same dam) didn't rate. She just went to the front, and tried to hold on.I think she won about 180k that way. This filly is gunna win,and pay $4 doing it.

I agree, it must be an education thing....I would say they were trying to get her to distribute her energy better....rather then just gunning from the time the gate opens, but at what point do they just let her run???

Polanco's trying to get in her head and figure her out. Or.. there is a very good reason for him wanting to keep her off the bit and what that is will probably become evident sooner rather than later.

That's a different jock today, but the same exact ride.Got to be trainer's instructions, cuz I have seen Pedroza ask a horse hard from the gate, and that just was not at all what he was looking to do.Could be they were told to make sure to keep her head up.
