We'll see, but so far so good.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 08:44 PM

OUr good luck charm Frank Herrmann is gonna close it out tonight!! That's how good we were!

slotdirt 08-10-2011 08:51 PM

Tigers in deep doo doo. What is that now, 15 straight losses in Cleveland? I can't imagine that will change even with ol' #35 on the bump tomorrow night.

There's no one better at protecting a 7 run lead.

This division changes fast...plenty of time for this to be a stretched out version of last night.

Bet first place is decided in the last game of the year..most likely you , us and/or Chicago.

slotdirt 08-11-2011 06:21 AM

Please don't let it be Chicago. At least the OH-rioles did their part last night.

This is true and why I think the Indians are always the most likely Cleveland team to win a championship. You don't have to even be good to win this division and then you just have to get hot or lucky in post season. The Twins stink in post season, but the Indians, Tigers and White Sox have all advanced to World Series' from this division. The Indians went over a full month between series wins and are still only 2 games back. It's unfathomable they are still in it.

clyde 08-11-2011 01:47 PM

I think it's possible to win this division by losing the last 8 games.

horseofcourse 08-11-2011 08:21 PM

Exhausto pitched a really nice game. They got some pansy runs in the 1st and 2nd but he was lights out after that and went 7. We actually scored 3 off Verlander but he's been nasty...big boy hits by Santana and Cabrera, their center fielder made a catch to rob Santana, could have tied it. Oh well, still have a shot in the 8th if bullpen holds together.

clyde 08-11-2011 09:01 PM

ssssssssso close

horseofcourse 08-12-2011 09:50 AM

I'm so confused clyde on this Masterson thing. Tomlin pitched Sunday. Today is Friday. Couldn't he pitch today on his normal rest? Then you maybe pitch Masterson Saturday on at least 3 days rest?? Then Huff on Sunday?

It's not like Tomlin stinks. He's pitched well this year, plus you now have Carmona and Masterson back to back who throw similarly...hard throwing sinkersballers, you could have had Tomlin in between them who throws completely different. They're playing well again. They went 5-5 against 3 first place teams, and the strength of the team again became the strength of the team against Tiggers. 15 shutout by the pen. If pen pitched like that on the road trip they go 5-2 or 6-1 instead of 3-4 with 4 walk off losses.

They're 6-1 against the non-Verlander Tiggers...
0-2 against the Verlander Tiggers!! (one guy makes the Tiggers seem like two different teams!)

You win the "i know my tribe the best" prize. A Tom Veryzer bobblehead. People talk about the curse of Colavito and that Tiger trade for Harvey Kuehn, but it was the Charlie Spikes to Detroit for Tom Veryzer trade with the Tigers that is a curse you never hear about...they haven't won a championship since trading Spikes either.

I think Dino Velvet is the guy calling the shots here.Only explanation.

What a horrible player and so misnamed.I remember him carping about batting 2nd....he said Manning on first made him nervous.I'd freak if I ever saw him again.

I thought today was to determine Ohio State's sanctions, if there were to be any imposed on top of the self punishing idiocy.

Now I read it will take 6-8 more weeks to find out....AND supposedly the ncaa is off on another investigation of Ohio State.I don't know if that 2nd one is official because I see where evpn is reporting that deal...and they seem to have their own personal vendetta against Ohio. What a mess lots of money creates.

He was part of the package that came over from the Yanks for Nettles. The early 70s were unbelievable building the Yankee late 70s dynasty.

clyde 08-12-2011 05:02 PM

You're right..remember.

But didn't Detroit win it all in like '86?

yes, sometime in the mid 80s....I think '84 maybe. Tribe win um tonight. Bat able to pitch on 2 days rest with great effectiveness, unfortunately he couldn't get that last out in the 8th so another no decision. Bullpen dominates again. 16 and a third shutout this homestand. Santana gets the big hit again. LaPorta gets a lucky bloop hit to win it. He still stinks bad.

horseofcourse 08-12-2011 09:29 PM

Chew hit leadoff tonight and Urns stellar season comes to an end as this Urn has been designated for assignment. (center and right field tonight was the orient express.)

It was ,huh? I just don't see LaPorta getting much better than he is now.I couldn't believe C-Pz had a 1,2,3.

Saw the one about Urns.

yay!!!!

horseofcourse 08-16-2011 10:54 AM

Here comes the season. Only 2 back with 6 in Chicago and Detroit. 3-3 at least is mandatory. We get Verlander for one of them I think so that leaves only 2 other games we can lose. Colt played very well in the first fake football game of the season.

clyde 08-16-2011 12:50 PM

Hope the Tribe does well.

horseofcourse 08-17-2011 12:58 AM

well, in O-Bald-Os 3 starts we've scored 7, 10, and 7 runs...that is a smorgasbgord of runs for this team. We're 1-2 in those 3 games. He's been an unmitigated disaster. Couldn't even make it though 5 tonight. Great, he pitches great 1 of every 3 starts. That's a bad pitcher.

clyde 08-17-2011 12:45 PM

Oh we only gave up 2 of MLB's top 50 prospects...plus 2 other maybe's.

But what we got is a proven fifth starter ,who looks like he is overrated.

Oh my God.

We got hosed.

horseofcourse 08-17-2011 05:15 PM

This puts it into even better perspective...he's made 3 more starts than Carlos Carrasco and has less quality starts....not Masterson or Tomlin...CARLOS FREAKING CARRASCO!! Exhausto has as many quality starts as Obaldo in less starts due to his DL time. HE DOES NOT HAVE MORE QUALITY STARTS THAN FREAKING EXHAUSTO STARTING MORE GAMES!!

So with the way Huff has pitched since his call up, clyde, we got our number 6 starter for White and Pomeranz. That's awesome.

(we can grab 3rd place tonight!)

Thank you ,HC...I feel so much bettah.

And don't forget we got Fucl<U , who equals Urns and Buckless added together.

Now that's awethome!!

Oh my God.

What are we saying!?

thudage!!

Exhausto has turned it around. Team 5-2 in his last 7 starts, one of the losses to Verlander and he battled him pitch for pitch.

clyde 08-18-2011 12:09 AM

:tro::tro:

horseofcourse 08-18-2011 04:35 PM

Just to cheer you up clyde--Drew Pomeranz went 6 and a third no hit innings in his first AA start in the colorado system last night pitching 7 shutout and 78 pitches!!

clyde 08-18-2011 04:43 PM

But we got a proven hack for him!

horseofcourse 08-18-2011 10:34 PM

Our number 6 starter got to see a true front line starter without his good stuff battle through 6 quality innings and getting to the bullpen horses for the win (although Pastrami darn near blew it). C Perez appears to be completely out of his slump. The orient express outfield has gone 9 for 19 the last two games. Fucl>U 3 for 4 with the game changing triple in the 6th to give us the lead. God I miss Urns!! :D:D We only struck out 13 times too, kept it down!!

(we get two non Verlander games now...better at least split them...then our number 6 starter gets Verlander!!)

Oh my God.

Do you know they are last in the AL for number of strikeouts?Wuffies don't whiff that much.

Thank God for Masterson...he could have 15 wins and more.

Bet they take them both.

blech!!!!

horseofcourse 08-19-2011 10:49 AM

Well actually...

WHIFFLE BALL: Indians’ batters lead the American League in strikeouts with 938.

slotdirt 08-19-2011 10:54 AM

Three non-Verlander games. JV isn't pitching until Monday.

Detroit is the worst managed team in baseball. I'm pretty sure Leyland has personally lost at least six-eight games this year.
