Chad Durbin pitched 3 shutout innings. That's just something you can't type every day of your life. This thread is a historical record, therefore it had to be entered.

horseofcourse 08-09-2011 09:51 PM

here's jhonny reverted back to times gone by striking out at a breaking ball in the dirt with one out runners on 1st and 3rd. He is confused being back in his old home I think and what his purpose is.

clyde 08-09-2011 10:30 PM

I wouldn't even try to predict the ending to this game.

clyde 08-09-2011 10:39 PM

Oh boy.

clyde 08-09-2011 10:51 PM

I really love the idea about trying to steal home with one out in a tie game, bottom of the 8th and a very good eye at the plate.

Stroke off brilliance...yup.

Stroke off brilliance...yup.

It was a squeeze I think...breaking ball in dirt...didn't work!!

Good lord they're still playing.

horseofcourse 08-09-2011 11:40 PM

YOu're gonna have to drive down to the stadium clyde, they're gonna need some more arms tonight. We're now down to Herrmann for the rest of the game! when's the last time you had both team's bullpens each throw 9 shutout innings? Chris Perez even pitched well and it's gonna be wasted.

Got it...evpn called it a steal.

Thanks.

They are really weirding out.

If need be, do they use a starter or a position player who pitched in little league?

clyde 08-09-2011 11:59 PM

To show how strange this game has become, watch Fucl<U ht a homer.

I don't think that's possible. All the west coast games are now ending! Do they still conduct a curfew in the AMerican League?

clyde 08-10-2011 12:12 AM

You were right..nailed his 4th strikeout of the night.Would have been too strange.

I think the curfew is by the city and not a canvas rule.

clyde 08-10-2011 12:14 AM

Herman's turn;this doesn't feel good.

clyde 08-10-2011 12:26 AM

Why am I doing this?..it's not even fun.

clyde 08-10-2011 12:29 AM

Might as well go with Brantley hitting a homer...at least that's within the realm.

clyde 08-10-2011 12:33 AM

Fucl< this noise.

I quit.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 12:42 AM

Herrmann two shutout, this is bazzaro world. Durbing/Herrmann 5 shutout. Now 12 shutout by the bullpen, not enough though.

winner, winner!! Not a homer, but hit by a pitch with bases loaded by Fucl <U on a two strike pitch, he had his 5th strikeout locked up but it works. Frank Herrmann has our last two wins. You can't make this stuff up. It's pure insanity. We do not drop below .500 once again thanks to a Frank Herrmann win!! Fucl<U wins a game he struck out 4 times by getting hit by a pitch. Welcome to Cleveland, you stink.

slotdirt 08-10-2011 06:15 AM

Tiggers have lost like 14 straight in Cleveland. The odds are in your favor.

YOu know that has to end sometime. I was counting on a Tribe win last night as it was the only starting pitching matchup I liked this series, unfortunately the rain killed both starters...and both bullpens are pretty taxed tonight. I was pretty much counting on losses for O-Bald-O and against Verlander, I don't care how much better Carmona has been pitching!

The 7's are out. The 1s, 3s, and 5s are still alive! I still like my 5...I was putting last night into the automatic win slot with Masterson then the rain came but we got lucky. You are very optimistic going with O-Bald-O or the Exhausto/Verlander matchup.

slotdirt 08-10-2011 08:41 AM

Verlander is like 13-2 with a sub-2.00 ERA against AL Central opponents the last couple of seasons.

I do enjoy how backloaded the Indians-Tigers schedule is - 11 more of these things to go in the last 49 games.

Verlander toyed with them last meeting in Detroit. I do remember in '07 we hit him hard a few times in that race. He's a heckuva lot better now though, not that he wasn't still good back then.

Yeah, 2 hit shutout striking out 12 in June!! Went back and looked at 2007 game log and we went 4-1 against him. We scored 7 against him 3 times and hit 6 homers off him. times change, don't they!!

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 09:29 AM

Here you go clyde. Walkoff hit by pitches in Cleveland Indian history...

8/9/2011 Kosuke Fukudome
6/11/1991 Alex Cole (good lord, remember when we moved the fences way back at the dump for that guy!!)...he turned out to be a poor man's Miguel Dilone.
6/22/1975 Rico Carty

...that's it. one more for the historical record.

clyde 08-10-2011 10:23 AM

I applaud the effort and knowledge Fucl<U has of his abilities. He made absotluely zero effort to not get hit by that pitch. Well done young man.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 10:39 AM

The records show the last time the Browns played the NFC West they went 10-6 with some guy named Derek Anderson playing quarterback.

Then we do have to give him credit for taking one for the team. He's an all star crash dummy.

Jimenez goes tonight?

Could go into the BP Pitcher HOF.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 01:00 PM

disaster management on display. Carlos Carrasco all of a sudden has elbow problems! He goes on the DL so they can erase the disastrous decision to send Huff back down with a 0.51 ERA. Carrasco has pitched better than Obaldo all year long and saved the team in June with a brilliant month when everyone else on the team stunk so it didn't make much sense to send him down either. elbow issues have suddenly developed for carlos after he had him throw 120 pitches last out in Fenway when it appeared he was pitching to save his job and did pitching very well. (really, on the DL when he was healthy enough to get into the 8th against Boston last out??)

The Obaldo carnage will be wide and deep...destroying every young pitcher in the organization one at at time (at least the ones they didn't dump to get him!!)

clyde 08-10-2011 01:18 PM

The Frontal Lobe office of which the Indians are burdened ---- they have a penchant for trying to cover self made disaster with more self made disaster.

They remind me of all the politicians we have to support.

Aberrations happen.

clyde 08-10-2011 01:30 PM

Here are my noodle showers for tonights game:

Him-a-Spaz will go 6.1 innings and throw 128 Exhausto like pitches with 6 walks,9 strikeouts,12 hits and 8 runs allowed....earned.

He only goes this far because of the tired bull pen arms.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 02:21 PM

More good tales. they are starting Masterson Friday on two days rest. I don't care if the rain curtailed his pitches or if he used to be a reliever. He is a very good starting pitcher right now...your best. Just give him his 4 days rest (of course the reason for this is because they sent Huff back down he started in Columbus so his full rest takes him to Saturday so he can't pitch until then.) May as well get to destroying you major league pitchers too! AGain, more outflow from the Obaldo trade, destroying all pitchers one at at a time.

clyde 08-10-2011 02:27 PM

Really,really.

Ya can't buy stuff like this.

horseofcourse 08-10-2011 03:12 PM

It is my sincere hope Tribe management and Obaldo make us both look really stupid. I hope he throws a 1 hit shutout tonight, but I'm wondering on the odds right now on all of this.

clyde 08-10-2011 03:20 PM

spit!!

And it would be just like them to do such a thing, too.

slotdirt 08-10-2011 07:59 PM

I think you guys are going to end this series up one game rather than three or five. Tigers have officially started their end of season collapse - a bit early this year!
