I remember Moll. I had her the day she got nosed at the Spa!
I'd love to see this horse try grass. Of course, as a well bred filly, there's the possibility of post career value. Many of the Came Home's went to good barns and I think he might make a middle distance grass sire.

miraja2 02-12-2007 05:11 PM

She seems like a nice filly. Congrats guys.
By the looks of her recent form, she is a smart play in all exacta boxes!
That race where she broke her maiden looks pretty impressive. Nice full field of 10 and she blew them away.
Good luck to all the owners. If I wasn't a poor grad student, I would be in it with you!

Princess Doreen 02-12-2007 05:28 PM

Hubby and I are happy to be in the mix. Wonderful Valentine's Day present and the perfect name.

scrimshaw 02-12-2007 05:31 PM

woohoo

Can't wait to see that filly making her way around the Downs! Will anybody drink a Julep to that?!? :p

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-12-2007 05:48 PM

Hopefully we'll get some pics of her soon up on the site.
Anyone have any video links to the races she's won?

Scav 02-12-2007 05:50 PM

I just watched all her replays and for 24k, steal city, especially with her last performance. If she liked that fake crap, she will love the turf..Quite honestly, it is amazing that they never even threw her on it once in a 22 claimer at Calder or something. She has some grit to her also as her first race at the Mountain and came back and should have broke her maiden that day. Absolute great buy and looking forward to seeing her run, especially if I GET THE INFO :)

Right now, at this moment, I am scratching my head as to why I did not just give up gambling on the horses for a couple weeks and invest in this. Honest I am. Oh well, other chances will come down the road.

Cajungator26 02-12-2007 06:03 PM

Congrats, and good luck to everyone! :D

disappearingdan_akaplaya 02-12-2007 06:04 PM

Martin 02-12-2007 06:16 PM

Wow, this is great just got through reading all the posts The excitement is warming me up even up here in Canada. Congrats to all investors and we are looking forward to meeting everyone involved at her first race.

LARHAGE 02-12-2007 06:18 PM

Best of luck everyone!!!! How exciting, I will definately root for you all and may the filly stay happy and sound. I think she will be a real fun mare to breed as well, what a nice pedigree!!!!

Playa, how can't you be sure, this horse will make 25k in one race on the lawn. She stays healthy, and she will get up to 100k easy......

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-12-2007 06:55 PM

Since NYRA loves to card all those sprint turf races now...
looks like SWLY will get plenty of chances @ the Spaaa!!!

Scav 02-12-2007 06:56 PM

Just gonna say it now, NICOLE'S DREAM replacement as a monster turf filly sprinter......

jman5581 02-12-2007 06:58 PM

I hope everyone is savoring and remembering the moments as they come, because someday this adventure may make an interesting serial read in one of the horse mags :)

I'm thinking Kee has poly and turf .... ;)

SniperSB23 02-12-2007 07:04 PM

Just watched all her races, looks promising especially if she can move up on the turf. Looks like she likes to be on the lead and I know I've come across plenty of turf races with absolutely no frontrunners so there may be some good spots for her.

Dunbar 02-12-2007 07:44 PM

Very cool! Congrats and good luck to all involved. Great name, too. I'm putting her straight on my watch list.

pmacdaddy 02-12-2007 08:36 PM

Great Job! Looking forward to the updates.

chrisl 02-12-2007 08:42 PM

Looks Good....

PeteMugg 02-12-2007 08:46 PM

Sounds like DT has taken a big step. Just wondering how many and who is involved in this. Is there a list of participants on the board?

Just watched all of her races as well, the only race in which she was not in a position to win the race at the stretch was her first. That day she had 13pp and thats probably not her style and the track was sloppy. Looks to be that she has great potential. In the race at Turfway looked to me that the jock moved her late, she had the lead and she could have made it interesting if the jock wouldnt have been so late to push her. Im very happy with this selection

stevepopyak 02-12-2007 09:49 PM

Can't wait to tell my co-workers that "Me and some of my gambling friends from the internet just bought a racehorse for 24K" .... their reactions should be priceless

You get Mena on this horse and she wins for fun at Turfway, FOR RUN, gate to wire, start to finish....Hopefully Battaglia calls the correct name though

scrimshaw 02-12-2007 09:57 PM

Derby Vow

Scav,

Did you see that race where Battaglia called Derby Vow in the lead and 4th the whole way?? Wow....he must just get to a point where he doesn't even listen to what he's saying.

Hope he calls the name right, but hope he doesnt pick her in his selections. That would not be good for DT:D

yeah, he probably just got back from a night of partying at SIU. I never remembered names when I was there.... :)

1) Opening odds of Sumwonlovesyou when she first runs, 15/1 ML and she will open at 3/5

2) I can only imagine the insanity if BATTAGLIA were to call SWLU's name wrong or if she was winning and he called another horse. He would have to go into witness protection.

scrimshaw 02-12-2007 10:28 PM

I like the guy, but there's no telling how he'd pronounce Saluki. :D

GO DAWGS!!!!!!

pgardn 02-12-2007 10:39 PM

Pretty damn cool.

Finally something other than a quarter horse turned show jumper.

Cajungator26 02-12-2007 11:12 PM

It's pretty cool that pedigreequery is updated...

Somebody from here had to do it, you can make adjustments to those all the time if you want

i cant be completely sure scav , LOL you never can in this game as everybody here knows. i dont know the physical condition of the horse hopefully shes sound and doesnt have any issues. they had her realistically spotted first out in KY and did nothing, although to her credit obviously it was the gals first out and she had a horrid post. they drop her in half and it takes 3 times for her to win and its at mountaineer. why they went to mountaineer worries me some as you can run on alot more meds than you can at other tracks. again i just really dont agree with the price, if you wait till keeneland or churchill you can get some nice horses outta a 25n/2l if youre lookin for a young lightly raced horse. as of right now i would not put this filly in that type of race@either of those tracks. you coulda had a filly here at hawthorne this year for 16 straight 3yo's that popped a 80+ beyer. you asked for my honest opinion and i gave it i hope i didnt upset you or any1else!

she does have conditions left and with her pedigree some upside which is obviously very good! she should get you guys in the circle atleast a couple times this year and run through her conditions, i hope she wins every time out i will be pulling for all of you's so hard and steve and charles simon did a wonderful thing setting this up for you guys!

disappearingdan_akaplaya 02-12-2007 11:48 PM

1 more note on the horse she was scheduled to run feb 8th@tp but didnt due to it being cancelled

can u say eurobounce???? He's back!!!!!

i never meant to piss in anyone's cornflakes here. i am just calling it like it see it here. I know that Mr. Simon will undoubtedly move to horse up, but im just thinking you could have gotten her for cheaper if someone would have done the research. Too many people do the research at these types of sales and you end up paying a premium price for a horse. I hope she wins a million dollars for the syndicate, but you must be able to at least see my point...

WE GET IT.

We are not morons, we can read pp's, we can watch replays. Obviously Chuck and Steve see the upside and we chose to put a little bit of money towards this horses potential. She vetted okay and that's a huge step. We trust Chuck and Steve and are looking for some fun for a tiny amount of money. Nobody is going broke here.

Everyone is excited and looking at the positives. Your first post is enough to give you dibs on the "I told you so". Enough already.

FH,

You're not wrong. She could have likely been acquired for a little less.. But recognize that the objectives of our project here is a little different than that of a "profit driven" racing stable. We wanted a healthy horse with potential upside so that the people involved can get to see it race and feel the excitement of ownership. The last thing Chuck wanted to see happen was that we claim a 5yo gelding that gets hurt a week later and no one gets to see anything as it gets turned out for 8 months.

The beauty of Sumwonlovesyou is myriad:

1.) As a sales ring buy, we were able to vet her and confirm soundness.

2.) As a solidly pedigreed filly by a $1,000,000-earning Gr. I winner with a $25,000 stud fee out of a $500,000-earning, multiple stakes winning mare, should she be injured, she has residual value to recoup the purchase price as a broodmare prospect. It's a safety net for the group to move on to another runner.

3.) Considering that her dam was a successful turf router and Sumwon has yet to do either, there is upside that she will move up once she gets to the lawn. (If you watch her races, she looks to me to have turf action.)

4.) She is a lightly raced 3yo that got to the races at 2 and being by Came Home should improve with maturity.

There are a few other positives associated with her that I won't elaborate on here, but I personally have a very positive vibe from our roulette peg landing on this gal. I think she's going to be lucky for everybody...

From an outside glance, I can understand why people would be perplexed at the excitement over her, but as you spend more time here, you'll get why she feels like Personal Ensign to Derby Trailers...

cmorioles 02-13-2007 06:18 AM

She has run mid 50 Beyers her last two.
