Of course, right in trying to beat Filimbi and use the wrong horse. Rusty Arnold, Leparoux and Centre Court, what a triumverate of losers.

pointman 08-23-2014 04:03 PM

I knew by the first turn the 7 was done. Was Rosario so afraid of the 6 not to use his horses speed to get the top?

Anything out of the Arnold barn is an auto toss for me. After years of seeing his horses, many of whom run up the track, the most confident tosses at Saratoga for me are Arnold horses.

She was washed out like crazy. Should've gone deeper in trying to beat her. Not smart.

jms62 08-23-2014 04:07 PM

Anyone else in the BCQualify contest today?

I am a little pissed at myself as I was a bit concerned about the 7 getting the lead, I went back and forth between using the 3 or 7 in the doubles and singling either the 3 or 7 on the second ticket. As I am prone to do, I picked the wrong one.

wac 08-23-2014 04:08 PM

Dammit Johnny!!!!!! I needed that one . Seems like the horses are having to carry me stupid for not having ex just figured 7 would win. Dammit

He'd much rather be on the golf course.

I have just seen one after another look terrific on paper at Saratoga and run up the track. He may beat me once, but I will consistently beat his over bet horses at Saratoga. I got suckered by them a few years ago and now I have learned. Easiest decision for me to make at the meet.

I am not, I find that on these big days trying to play in a contest overwhelms me since I rarely get an opportunity to handicap the day before the card and I end up suffering in the contest and my wagering.

Not just Saratoga, toss period IMO.

I agree, I have been finding that at Keeneland the same angle is pretty darn effective. It has gotten to the point that once I see the horse is trained by Arnold I just go to the next horse in the PP's and don't waste my time evaluating the horse's actual chances.

I am a little worried about not having covered the 1 on my ticket after his last performance which was exceptional, but I just feel that there is a lot of speed here and this race sets up on a silver platter for Wildcat Red. Will cover with a small pk3,

Note to self, Luis Saez is an idiot who has no place riding at Saratoga. :wf

jms62 08-23-2014 04:39 PM

Well that was a microcosm of my meet. Alive on a Hundred dollar Double to the 1 and he checks late and has no chance. Gotta play it out but am looking forward to its conclusion:wf

wac 08-23-2014 04:42 PM

Jms I had 1 as well horse had to check 2x b4 getting railed would have liked to have seen him get a clean trip bc that pace was slow

pointman 08-23-2014 04:44 PM

It is mind boggling that off of his last race the 1 was not sent.

Seriously, we must be on the same tickets today. Wildcat Red clearly missed the break, but Saez was pumping for the opening quarter mile to get into the tail wind position on the very impressive Fast Anna. It was a terrible ride that saw Wildcat Red already spent after five furlongs.

(Given the choice of Saez, Lanerie, or Albarado, I would have taken Saez, so there are plenty of others to kick out first! Also, from the jockey race earlier in the meet, Saez's physical conditioning is second to none.)

I don't know what to say Scott, on paper Wildcat Red projected to sit right behind several that had speed, the 1, 5 and even the winner. Why, particularly after the break, he was pushing that horse all out when it seemed that Rosario was going to press the 6 is just inexplicable to me. It was an awful ride and decision making, what in hell was he thinking?

Reports were rampant about the speed of Fast Anna - in particular, the 58 3/5 breeze last weekend where the clockers were saying that the horse never blew hard. Sounds like everyone took back to take one run in the stretch.
