ROI...they site it all the time in the NYRA show but i guess in derby trail land it does not matter...you'll do real well betting every day hitting pic 6's that pay 1600.....and like i said that was at 10 freakin cents...which is the only reason i played the thing....bet a little get alot...i got kicked in the teeth friday ...i admitted it...i was taking a shot not getting cute with the parlay. derby trails theory having to hit 6 horse races and getting an 8 dollar mutuel is a big victory....i'll remember that one.

Just so you're aware, idiotic lottery players like you are the reason Gulfstream experimented with this wager in the first place. They wanted people to piss money into a pool chasing a jackpot they were almost certainly not going to hit in order to attract more and more cash for when it actually had to be paid out.
I really don't understand how you can argue about value and ROI when you were playing a Pick 6 for weeks THAT DIDN'T PAY YOU IF YOU GOT 6 OUT OF 6. How in the hell is that a good investment? It's the biggest sucker bet in the game.
Let me try to explain to you, one last time, why beating the parlay 5+ times is important. The parlay of yesterday's winners would've paid $12,818 for $2. The actual $2 Pick 6 paid $65,585. Were it not for the carryover, the $2 payout would've been closer to $20,000. THE CARRYOVER MADE IT PAY THREE TIMES WHAT IT NORMALLY WOULD HAVE PAID. Why don't you understand that that in itself, makes it a good bet?
If you want to argue that people put too much money into their tickets, that's fine. But the payout, however pissant you may think it is, was significantly larger than it would've been on any other Saturday or at any other track for the same string of winning horses.
