A lot of west coast bias, sure, but he usually posts about himself when he's already on the defense.

I think I post about myself when asked a specific question. Perhaps not. I'll go back and look. If I'm going to put my actual name on here I should try to be honest. I've sure learned you can't please everyone. Still. We all have a common thread, well almost all, great passion for horseracing. That will always carry the day:tro:

isn't that pretty much public knowledge anyway? all you have to do is look at purse money won by rosario horses, and then extrapolate the numbers to figure who get how much percentage-wise. and really, does anyone catch grief if they say they won x amount in a bet? well, if they made the bet known ahead of time of course!!

Unnamed Poster : Did anyone see what happened in the feature at Hollywood?

Vic : I made $260K working for Joel Rosario in 2010.

Next Poster : Why are you rubbing people's faces in how much money you make?

Vic : Oh, I make much more than that. That was only what I made working for Joel.

Next Poster : Didn't Joel fire you?

Vic : I was going to quit being an agent anyway.

RockHardTen1985 12-12-2010 12:28 PM

I think everyone should chill out with Vic. The bottom line is he is a public figure, like it or not. He takes the time to post, and talk to us and always seems to treat everyone with respect.
Im not sure what the problem with him is.

The question was asked why I walked away from something that seemed so lucrative and successful. I put that in to emphazise that good money be it Rosario or Tyler Baze wasn't the most important thing. Perhaps I made a mistake by using that example. We live and learn.

The whole point is when you are a public figure and you made x hundred thousand in times were people havent worked in months/years it comes off poor.

Vic quit being an agent or perhaps wasn't welcomed? I don't know nor do I really care. You think if BYK got a huge raise from Sirius we would be reading about the 400k bonus he got and then months later how he was giving up the show to snuggle with Tina on the couch?

None of that is fair or even accurate. How can I rub in anybodys face something that I don't do anymore. By my choice. It was 2009 not 2010 and I discovered it wasn't for me. I do know that no matter what I say some will find a way to carve it up. I have 30 years in this business and love to share my experiences and what I might have learned. If you'd like I'll shut up and leave you to yoursevles.

Why should I apologize for working hard and supporting my family?

Actually Vic if you told us why Zenyatta is so special I would love to read your thoughts. I would love to here from you on why Sherriffs elected to race against weak ass fillies when there were weak ass horses and colts to go after. We all would like to read about what made being an agent so tough and why you felt it wasn't for you..

I never suggested you should Vic. In fact, I think you should be commended for your work.

I POSTED THIS ON ANOTHER SITE A FEW DAYS BACK. I'VE TAKEN OUT THE $$ FIGURES BECAUSE IT GOT EVERYBODY IN SUCH A TIZZY

You got the full and complete story. From the time I took Rosario in Oct. 2008 until Tyler's injury this past July I had three days off. Those were spent in the hospital. Since then I rediscovered fun and joy in my life. I feel physically great. My relationship with my wife and step-daughter is terrific again.

In retrospect I just don't think I had the right makeup for agenting. Maybe just a bit too OC. There's really no end to how many hours you can put into it. You can beat the books and the barns and phones 8 hours a day five days a week. Or 14 hours a day 7 days a week. I was the latter and it took it's toll. I knew I had to change but never could.

I made ALOT of money.$*** from Rosario alone in 2009 but I never found time to enjoy it. I sure make alot less now but my quality of life is 1000% better. Tomorrow is promised to nobody. There are lots of miserable rich guys out there. I refuse to become one of them.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes.

Happy Holidays

Freddy. You must remember that being an agent was my second job. Unless they throw me out on the street I'm NEVER EVER giving up being announcer. Between the two I felt I had too much on my plate. As for the day to day interworkings of having a top rider I'd be happy to answer any questions you have as long as it doesn't betray a confidence or hurt anybody.

You are so sure HP will be around in 2012 2013 etc. You are so sure Cal racing is going to thrive again? Seems to the answer to both issues are far from etched in stone?

Vic how many agents have ever started their business as successfully as you? You had the two top jocks in Ca. You had business related issues that we all heard about. Did these type of issues have more to do with your career change then just looking to spend more time watching the Playboy channel with the Missis?

I'm not sure of anything. I know as much about HP's future as you do. I do know I sure hope they let me stay as long as we run. I had NO business related issues. I've stated the reasons for my walking way. Note to self. Get Playboy channel to watch with the Mrs. See and you guys think there's never any good ideas on DT.

4. Horse racing is viewed by younger bettors (like 18 year-olds such as myself) as being a fixed, corrupt game that one cannot win at.

9. I am a crusader. I am a vigilante. I will address these issues when they rear their ugly head..

I believe the following.

What I'm wondering is why you think anyone cares.

You're on a roll?

Talk about delusions of mediocrity.

You seem like an angry, little man who should be a poster child for displaced aggression.

You seem to like lists. Here you go...

The outcome of your constant and unprevoked berating of Vic is two-fold...

1. You are giving him a chance to show his patience, humor and class, and

2. You are making yourself look more bitter, self-serving and jealous with every post.

I'm sorry it caused such a tizzy that I cleared $334 working as a jockey agent in the year 2009.

How can I rub in anyones face something that I don't do anymore?

In my humble opinion any time a man boasts about making alot of money in his career he is the fool. The ego maniac fool. Thats just on you man. It appears you are ready to settle into something like a family life with your wife, step kid etc etc but I would caution you from my own personal experience that one of the most deflating things a man can do is talk about how much money he makes to another man who makes a considerable amount less. I think, from a distance, your a great cat. Best wishes to you and yours this holiday season!

That's where I clearly made a mistake. I didn't intend to BOAST. I said that to illustrate how commited I was to taking another direction despite $$. Sorry. I'll try to be more sensitive in the future.

It's not about being sensitive. I've gotten thicker skin thru the years;)thru my own mistakes. It's just the "image" that is presented. I believe your a great cat, like you care what I think lol. Just know this Vic, I made a decent living in the late 90's and boasted about it to anyone in ear shot. When I left that job, on my own faults mind you, it was a spiral down a slippery slope. In particular, when I look back at how the employees that worked their a s s off for me for pennies on the dollar of what I was making and how it made them feel, well, yuck.

Have a great Holiday Season with your family man and best wishes to you for a great 2011 and beyond!
