That was a pretty good game.

hockey2315 09-26-2010 10:49 PM

I think you're the only person who could make me root for the Jets, Joey.

Where are all of the people who wrote the Jets off after losing by 1 point to the Ravens?

Right here in a way. Long season. Thrilled to be 2-1. Still nervous.

gales0678 09-26-2010 11:13 PM

I hear you and as Jets fans being negative is in our blood. But that is a big win, on the road nonetheless. And you have to be encouraged with the way the offense is playing.

Defense will be fine once Revis comes back. If you told me Jets would be 2-2 after 4 weeks with that schedule and Revis out for 2 games, I would have been ecstatic. 3-1 with 3 division wins is a strong possibility.

ateamstupid 09-27-2010 12:26 AM

No Revis, no Pace, no Holmes, no matter. This team is for real. If/when we're finally at full strength, watch out.

I'd send that fat loser more dicks to eat, but they said his P.O. Box is full. stay pathetic and greasy you cowardly dipshit.

No doubt, if they had to lose one of those 3, the non-division opp is the one. So we'll see. That was not their best effort on defense.

MaTH716 09-27-2010 08:45 AM

I really it's a really good sign that the offense picked up the defense last night. Obviously they have some injuries, but most of the talk is how strong/dominate the defense is. At times they looked very vunerable last night, but every time it seemed that the offense picked them up.
You would think that they will just get better as they go along. Guys will get healthy plus they will pick up another weapon in Holmes. Most importantly it seems like Sanchez has really arrived. I thought he played excellent last night, with really very limited weapons. Also their special teams is pretty damn good, although I do think that Folk will bite them in the ass somewhere along the line (but I'll be honest, that's my own personal grudge). I think they are very legit.

The Bills may not win a game all year so the Jets should be 3-1 next Monday.

It's really pathetic how far that organization has fallen. It's like they are blatantly throwing seasons so they can use it as an excuse to move to Canadia.

It just seems like they haven't had QB who can carry/move the team since Flutie in 98-99. They just keep drafting these projects, that don't work out.

RHT went to SC?

gales0678 09-27-2010 10:18 AM

the key to the game was the jets fast start

they got off to a 14-0 lead and played with more purpose in the 1st qtr

road teams can get burid early in the game when the home team comes out and is desperate mood , the dolphins were not in that mood

it was a big help for the jets this week that miami had won the week before as an underdog in minnesota , they were a little slow out of the gates tonight and that helped the jets ultimately win the game later on even win the fish started playing better , remember that next time Joey

I felt bad about losing that game till I read this thread. Considering the PG curse is worth at least 10 points. Next scum NE fan to "root" for Miami gets punched in the face. At least the Jets fans have the decency to always hate Miami and we can share that sentiment back. **** the patriots. I'd root for the Iran and the IRS before I rooted for your lousy team.

Gales, Miami's win against Minnesota had zero to do with last nights game. They were slow out of the gate because they haven't had a freakin safety worth a damn since Jake Scott and they made Clemens look like the Randy Moss of tight ends. If AP had scored on that last goal line stand last week the Dolphins safeties still would have sucked.

human nature allowed a letdown , they didn't come out with any fire or not as much as the jets , they left a lot on the field in minnesota and it took them a few series to get it going , they spotted the jets the 14 , too much to overcome

the bears s/b a bet against tonight as well , they put it all out onto the field last week in big d , while the pack jogged against the bills ....will see chuck

the bears are a dog so the system isn't as strong but

I agree. And they're doing a good job- 6 of my best friends who still live in WNY had season tickets for 10 years and gave them up this year because let's face it, going to football games is an expensive proposition both financially and timewise, especially when the team you support has no interest in putting a competitive product on the field. For example- CJ Spiller is a very, very good player, but the one spot on the field they were strong was RB. Why spend your first round pick on one???

There was no letdown. They came out with plenty of fire. All this neblous bullshit drives me crazy. The fact was the Jets coaches obviously saw that Miami's safeties are soft and designed and called a bunch of plays that exploited that. Not to mention some stupid penalties that kept Jets drives alive. The first play on offense that Miami had was an overthrown where Hartline was open and could have had a TD. The fact was that the Jets exploited Miami's weaknesses and didn't turn the ball over. You can talk all you want about schedules, injuries, letdowns, etc but I will take turnovers as the key to most games.

IMO the Bears are a play against tonight because GB is a lot better than they are, not because Chicago won last week. Those systems always look a lot better after the games have been played...

Plus Minnesota has issues and not a top team that everyone thinks that they should be.

Come on Marty. Are you really saying that the Texans weren't up to play in the battle if Texas? I think it more of a desperate 0-2 Dallas team in a must win situation then the Texans not being really to play their in state rivals.

the 0-2 dallas situation was a part of the play , but, you have to factor in how much that washington game on the road took out of the texans

all week long we heard they were going to go into washington and take care of business , they would get up early and then just run foster down the throats of the skins

well that didn't happen , they expanded every ounce of energy to make that comeback in washington , couple that with the dallas situation and they were a clear bet against

i can maybe buy a letdown in baseball or basketball after a tough game where all you have is a day or two to get ready. football players have a week to build up for a peak performance game day. they don't need to maintain the performance for any more than 3 1/2 hours and then they have another week.

you're overanalyzing if you think anything outside of actual injuries the prior week plays a significant role in a nfl teams performance a week later.

if you think these guys come to play 110% every week you are crazy, there are games that take a lot out of the players and they just can't give a max effort the next week , does it hold true in every case , no , but it does a good portion of the time
