i don't see anyone in this divison being more than 10-6

the redskins get the break of the last place schedule in the nin-division nfc games and that might make the difference

i think these teams will split most of their division games and split the afc games , of the 6 games that are left vs the non nfc east teams the redskins have by far the eaiest road

not impossible

Redskins will win more than the Eagles this year, they have a good shot at taking down the Cowboys as well since I think they are horribly overrated. The Giants are the wild card, they could be really good this year, or they could be a fourth place team, neither would surprise me.

Washington is vastly improved on offense with Shanahan, Trent Williams, McNabb, and a healthy Chris Cooley (who could catch 100 balls this year). There defense was already good. They will be very good this year.

Antitrust32 08-17-2010 09:32 AM

you guys are so dilerious it is FUNNY!!!

Redskins were 4-12 last year. 4-12

An improvement for them would be 7-9. that would be a HUGE improvement

There is a 1,000,000 times greater chance that the Skins finish last in their division and not first.

I cant wait til the Eagles crush the Skins twice this year. After it happens, Scott, I will remind you about it every time I see you for the rest of my life.

No that was my intent. Who the f.uck is he? Drafted third behind Purple Drank and Colin Quinn?

Oh get hype.

Antitrust32 08-17-2010 09:49 AM

Kevin Kolb, on the other hand, is the man.

So much of a man, that the Philadelphia Eagles ownership & coaches felt comfortable enough to donate our bestest ever QB that brought us so many championships, Mr Don McNabb, to the division rival Deadskins for a 2nd round pick and a box of Krispy Kreme donuts.

Week 1 of the NFL season.. in Philadelphia, PA, there will be a matchup of the future stars of NFL QB's.

Coach Pants 08-17-2010 09:51 AM

They'll donate Andy Reid to Krispy Kreme in January.

who cares? He was still a 2nd round draft pick.

Tho the fucl< was Tom Brady coming out of college?

that means nothing.

He's better than McNabb or McNabb would be in Midnight green and not puke colors right now.

Yeah he's the next Tom Brady...the only difference is he'll be f.ucking goats in photo shoots instead of holding one.

I didnt mean to say he'll be the next Tom Brady.

It was a responce to your "he was drafted after Purple Drink" comment. Brady was drafted after tons of guys.

He was drafted in the 2nd round. That is still a very high draft pick. He was the 3rd QB taken and is already more accomplished than Purple Drink and Colin Quinn. Though all he had to do was look good on one completion to be more accomplished than those two slugs.

I think he will be a very similar QB to Aaron Rodgers.

So he'll be a stats queen like Randy Moss with no rings to show for it.

Its best to bring this back up after the season.. or at least lets give the kid 6 games to judge. His first preseason game was sharp. tho the preseason is meaningless, he still threw for 95 yards, had one sure touchdown pass that was dropped off the hands of the TE Celek, and absolutely moved the ball at will over the poor Jaguars first team D.

Eagles had 165 yards of total offense in that first quarter. Expect that to be the trend this year. Lots of yards, lots of points.

But I think Kolb has the qualities to convert these stats into rings. I do not expect it this year. If they just make the playoffs its a good start for a team who's average age is 25 & has only one non kicker player over the age of 30.

I thought stats queens were guys who pile up numbers in junk time of games when the outcome is decided?

Moss doesn't even try in those games. If his teams ahead 3 TD's or behind 3 TD's going into the 4th quarter .. he won't even come off of the line of scrimmage sometimes. Why risk getting hurt?

If Moss didn't have the single worst defense in the entire NFL for about 5 straight years in Minny - he'd have a hand full of Super Bowl rings. And so would Hall of Fame qb Duante Culpepper

I'll bet you on the third one for sure. Eventhough I dont see 8-8 as being impossible for the Eagles this year. They have a REALLY tough schedule.

I'll still take the over on that.

As for the Skins bets, fucl< the redskins, I dont care about them or want to make those bets.

What if the Giants flop and only win 5 games and the skins win 6?

The only skins bet I'll make is the Eagles will have a better record than the redskins. I already have that bet in place with Sniper (same guy who was excited to have TO on the Bills & thought TO would make them better)

I'll take the over on the Eagles though.

Who's my owner? Am I a slave or something?

TO did make them better, they were an awful Leodis McKelvin fumble against New England and an awful Roscoe Parrish fumble against Cleveland from going 8-8 last year. Now they are the longest odds in Vegas to win the Super Bowl this year when their only personnel loss was TO.

There's going to be some wide eyes, league-round this year! Not quite as wide as Andy, but WIDE nonetheless. Doubting Thomas' will soon realize that talk of a 'rebuilding year' was mere laughable fodder, childs play talk. Keep them under the radar, please.

For me, its just going to be so much fun watching the two men in your Avatar.

Maclin is unreal and D jax runs circles around ANYONE.

Its so exciting. Dont think I'd trade D Jax and Maclin combination for anyone.

throw in Avant, who may have the best hands in football, and Celek who is a top 5 TE & this year is going to be FUN!

we need to say prayers for the O-line.. if Herremans and Jamaal can come back strong and soon, life is good.

I cant wait to see Graham in action on the defense either. kid is a STUD.

I love the energy. Saw more energy in one little stupid pre-season game then I've seen in the last 5 years combined. These kids will die for one another.

OMG, aside from the ridiculousness of this have fun watching Kevin Kolb try and throw to a receiving corps of midgets once the weather gets cold.

As long as it's accurate and hits these kids in stride (db's left in the smoke), I don't care what the weather is like. Double/bump cover the one, the other will burn you. Stop both, and leave open a blossoming Celek. Weaponry out the wazoo, but let's wait for the regular season to start the real talking.

seriously?

I hope you are doing a better job handicapping at Toga than you are doing analyzing football.

Dont be jealous that you will have to bear through another year of terrible football with the Bills, when we have the whole world in front of us in Philly.

& Just cause you dont know anything about Avant, doesnt mean what I typed isnt true. Out of the first 80 catches Avant made in training camp, he had zero drops. For real, zero drops.

article from 8/16/10:

BETHLEHEM - It would be an exaggeration to say that bystanders gasped.

But they did shake their heads in disbelief. The quick Kevin Kolb slant, thrown during a red-zone drill, hit Jason Avant's hands. Avant grasped the ball and stepped toward the end zone. Then Joselio Hanson stuck a hand in, and suddenly the ball was on the ground.

Was that a drop?

"I didn't drop it. I caught it, and he poked it out. It was a fumble!" Avant said later, smiling, before conceding that "Yeah, it'll count as [a drop]."

Last week, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Avant had caught "up near 80 balls" while being defended in this camp, without a drop. "I'm not sure I've ever had a man do that," said Mornhinweg, who has coached Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens, among others.

"I don't think about that stuff. Marty came up with that; I wish he would have never said [anything]," Avant said yesterday. "It's one of those things, you're playing football, you're out here, it's going to happen. You've just got to try to limit it, as a pro."

I'm not at all predicting a superbowl. They arent ready for that yet.

Making the playoffs with this young of team and a very difficult schedule will be a very good accomplishment for this team. It is one that I expect.

But I will make no apologies for having to stand up against this "the Deadskins will be so much better than the Eagles" bullshit. Its laughable at best.

A stupid fluff piece article about a guy catching passes in practice and now he has the best hands in the NFL. Wow Lori, what is next?

I've already got the Redskins against the Eagles with you. I'll also say that the Eagles will not win win more than 4 games more than the Bills this year if you want that wager. You get Eagles wins -4.5

honestly I dont know much about the bills this year, but they seem to be pretty pathetic again..

Done. Should be two easy wins for me, especially since the Eagles will only have to win 7 games for me to win this latest bet.

& yeah, Avant is SICK when it comes to hands. Every single Eagle player including Jackson & Maclin will say Avant has the best hands on the team in a heartbeat.

Is he the best reciever in the NFL? hell no! He's the 3rd best on this team. Does he have the best hands? He very well could.

ateamstupid 08-17-2010 04:23 PM

God am I sick of hearing about the NFC East. One SB win and three appearances since 1995. Yet every year it's a given that it's the toughest division in football and I have to hear about those four boring ass franchises all offseason.

You took his -4.5 more wins bet??? I hope not. If you did, you're looking at a wash there. It's tough to beat any team in the league by more than 4 wins.

Everyone knew Cutler was a big crybaby last year.

But for some reason all the idiots on here seem to think that the Eagles wanted to trade their best QB to the division rival so they could have a new guy that isnt half as good as McNabb.

how many times do I have to repeat that I have no superbowl expectations & just want to see a good productive year where they make the playoffs?

But give me Birds vs Skins heads up in the w/l column... and Eagles +4.5 against the ridiculous Bills & what do you expect me to do?

Its like taking the Borel horse in the Derby. I feel like I'm ripping you off.

Ever hear of a rivalry? These are ALL storied franchises in the league that have developed real rivalries. Are they the toughest division in football this year? No. Has it been in years past? Yup. Not to mention the parity in this division is as thin as it gets. Each year, Skins excluded, a new team seems to paint themselves with a bullseye.

Sorry this division can't be as breathtaking as the AFC East.

I had to take that bet. Its Sniper. I need to have this so when it happens I can really have fun with him next time I see him.

We already have a Eagles vs Skins even money on the W/L record.

And its quite possible the Bills will win 5 or less games, since according to Sniper they lost their best player (TO) after a 6 win season last year!

here's my take on the eagles

2-1 in sept
2-2 in oct
2-2 in nov
2-2 in dec
0-1 in jan

makes them 8-8 under

a fall from last year , or a backwards step
