Dont get me started, another DTer said the same thing, bettor not protected at all, absolute bs and nothing we can do about it, i want to get a Barry Bonds cardboard lifesize and put it next to his comedy chair in paddock

And its the horseman's fault?

This is from a locally based owner on Arlington's facebook page.

I don't know who this specific trainer is, but I know of two trainers, that are good guys that have stalled here in the past, that got denied.

Quote:

Why has AP refused to grant stall space to trainers and owners who have been racing at CD. I own two filles, raced then at CD, and had planned to come to AP. My trainer was told there is not sufficient space to stable his string of 12/13 head. I live here in Elk Grove, have raced at AP for three years, and am very upset with the way we are being trated. The lack of barn space is not true. The races being run so far at AP for the most part have short fields, which are dominated by even odds horses either owned or trained by two people. No wonder intertrack betting at AP is down.

It was a delight indeed watching Queen Frank growling at all his minions and munchkins yesterday afternoon after being served up the chin music from the racing board earlier in the day. If only his director's chair would have shown some termite damage, as well, after he dropped his fat ass into it.

That Human Liver Spot was certainly sitting in the catbird's seat the previous two days with three out of four winners on Saturday and Boy Scout Day on Sunday. The rush he got from seeing 500 cub scouts prancing through the paddock on Sunday was probably enough to keep him off Viagra for a week.

Frank C claimed a horse on Sat with a trainer I never heard of named. I think it was Faucheux? He will probably only be a 50% winner

He's 23 years old, whatever that means

CSC 07-07-2010 11:20 AM

Does anyone remember Frank Passero Jr. at Gulfstream Park, used to use the horrendous J Bracho as his jock, made huge drops to win claiming races, totally disrupted betting unless you wanted to be a bridgejumper and was accused of using Vicks vapor rub on a horse's genitalia. You wouldn't call him a good trainer by any means despite a great winning %.

I don't think they had HGH back then...and having bigger balls I don't think would make a horse run faster. ;)

Obviously. He's got Frank pitching a tent every time he saunters past him.

Sightseek 07-07-2010 09:14 PM

It's never boring in Chicago.

Catalano is going to be using less of Baze (to shake things up?) and Canani filed an appeal resulting in a 30 day stay of suspension.

He used to work for Pletcher. His dad is known in political circles; the father was an elected official in the NOLA area and is now a political analyst in D.C. He also has connections to Louie Roussel.

Must not be too serious of positives. He only gets 30 days for 5 of them.

well, i know they have classes of drugs, so this one must be a three. but it's not just 30 days and the fine, but the purses go away as well. i guess his trainer stats change as well? besides, 30 days is not a slap on the wrist.

I'm sure the horses will continue to run and train the same way as usual...the only difference being a little less etodolac in their system and a change in the name of the trainer which appears in the official track program.

Keep giving penalties like 30 days for 5 positives and allow the horses to run under a different trainers name during the suspension and things like this will never go away. There really is no strong deterrent to not try to take an edge and maybe push the envelope.

supposedly () they can't, but we have all seen trainers say they are taking a vacation. it's supposed to be punishment, but we all saw how the six month suspension hurt asmussen. he got more business as a result, it's bizarre.
but i do know, if i missed 30 days of work, it would hurt my budget. but i guess it won't hurt his.

it would be nice if they could find a way to do that. but those who won on the canani horses might not agree, as they wouldn't want to give their winnings back.

I know it involves different jurisdictions, but something isn't right when you compare some of the punishments meted out to trainers with the one-year suspension that Donnie Meche received for not giving his best effort aboard a Steve Asmussen trained 3-5 favorite in a futurity trial at Delta Downs.

as it turns out there isn't much differece now is there? When it smells like a rat it usually is.

It's a sickening situation. If they keep samples I'd love to see and independent lab come in and do tests.

Heard Canani talking in the paddock today in his Cuban shirt that he stole from his dad that 'my lawyers can't get in contact with you until next week' and he stormed away.

This was after he just put in a 50 cent P4 at Del Mar that cost $250, LOL.

Keep an eye for the horses that got positives, some have been dropped from the clouds even more so then normal and ran horrible. What is hilarious is that people still claim off the guy.

Most importantly, my girl Ingrid Mason can sure wear an Ed Hardy shirt, Drugs would have a field day with her.
