Buh bye Vagic.

horseofcourse 05-28-2010 11:21 PM

I was unable to watch the game tonight, but I can only guess the refs were uncharacteristically competent tonight?? No? Why does ateam never talk about the fix and the refs after Celtic wins?? It is a typing comedy show.

Cry, cry away Cleveland fan. The refs called the Celtics for four more fouls, the free throws were even and Howard got away with another billion elbows/rakedowns. I'm supposed to take up for the Vagic after that? Your sad, sad act is a comedy show. Enjoy the Mangini era buddy. God are we glad to be rid of that doofus.

LeBron has no existence now. Until he decides to sign I don't care. If he re-signs with the Cavs we can re-visit this. I don't cheer for players. I cheer for the jerseys they wear.

What a clown. A Boston and New York fan combined. It gets absolutely no worse than that. It is a horror show of zero loyalty.

horseofcourse 05-28-2010 11:28 PM

So the refs cost the Celtics the game that they won. Incredible show going on here.

 yeah, all the glory I've had being a Jet fan since I was 11.

No one said the refs cost anyone anything. I'm telling you that there was no discernible bias either way tonight. And if you actually read what I wrote, I never said the refs threw Game 5 for the Vagic. I said the calls on Perkins were an absolute joke, and they were.

horseofcourse 05-28-2010 11:35 PM

I find it funny. All I know is I was 100 percent wrong about the Celtics going to the post season. You were right. I did think they would take the Cavs 6 or 7 but lose, but you were right and I was wrong. So whatever I say has no bearing really. I simply have no clue why you harp about the refs so much is all.

I am right there with you on being wrong on the celts. I was convinced that they were done...for good.

I have another couple of months before Wall suits up.

Again, acting as if I'm the only one that expresses suspicion about Stern and the referees. It's the goddamn 2-ton elephant in the room for any reasonable basketball fan and has been for over a decade now. I'd love to get into another 700-page argument with you and Chuck about the sainthood of NBA refs, but I'm in too good of a mood right now, so cheers.

I see no evidence of any refs kicking out any team this postseason. I never said they were saints. I have said they are human beings who make mistakes but usually make the right call. the Celtics were the best team in postseason in the East and they are in the finals. By your arguments, Stern and the refs put them there. I think that degrades the team you pull for extensively. I think your team was the best team and that is why they won. I honestly don't think it was a Stern conspiracy to put them there, but which series gets higher ratings?? LA-Boston or Phoenix-Orlando?? :D:D::$::$::

I never said they influence every single thing that happens in the playoffs. I just don't think they're the totally impartial arbiters you and Chuck do. Again, I'm too giddy to deal with this right now, have a good night HoC. :D

Even when I say the Celtics are the best team and that is why they are where they are, you still can't agree with me!! When you pump the conspiracy non-stop, then see it's actually your team that may be winning titles in 2 of the last 3 years, it sort of all comes crumbling down around you doesn't it!!

Good night ateam....it's always fun! :)

I think K. Brown would be a nice fit with the Wiz......no bigger first pick bust than he!!

Does Doc win Coach of the year now finally?

Now that Leonsis is the owner, maybe they will go back to being the bullets.

Kwame is an abortion but LaRue Martin still tops the worst first pick list.

No that would cause children in the DC area to turn to violence because everybody knows that people are greatly influenced by nicknames of sports franchises...

They should just wear the retro unis for the entire season

Lakers +110

Joey will love this...

IMO the key to the series is the refs. That's right i said it! Not that there is some secret plot against one of the teams but how the series is called will determine the winner.

If the refs let Artest punkout Pierce and beat him up, the Lakers will have a big advantage. If Artest gets in foul trouble Boston will have a big advantage at SF as Odom cant effectively check Pierce and LA doesnt really have any other options. Pierce vs Artest SHOULD be a big Boston advantage as Artest is a negative on the offensive end which allows Pierce to help Ray Allen with Kobe. But too often in the playoffs pierce has disappeared or been coaxed into poor, disinterested offensive performances.

Rondo needs to take advantage of the Lakers PG's and create offense like he did in the Cleveland series when he held a similar speed advantage. He must hit open shots that they will surely be offering him as they sag off to try to minimize his penetration. The lakers PG's need to likewise hit open shots created for them by Kobe and Gasol and keep the turnovers to a minimum. They are going to lose this matchup but have to keep Rondo from going off. I would also be surprised if we didnt see LA press Tony Allen when Rondo is out of the game. With Bynum and Gasol guarding the basket, they can afford to take chances, especially with Allen who is shaky as a PG.

Ray Allen needs to hit open threes, make Kobe chase him and prevent him from gambling on defense and simply try to contain Kobe defensively. While I'm sure RA will be receiving plenty of help it is a given that Kobe is going to get his points. But Allen must make him earn them and you would think Rasheed or Perkins will give Kobe at least one hard foul a game to try to keep him shooting contested jumpers. I know he still makes them but Kobe penetrating puts a lot of stress on the slow footed frontcourt of Boston and will cause them to get in foul trouble which is something they cannot afford.

This will be the toughest matchup in the playoffs for Gasol as KG is big, strong and long just like Gasol who has been a terrible matchup problem for OKC, Utah and Phoenix. While KG isnt the 2008 KG, with the time between games he should be able to at least contain Gasol and make him disappear at times. The old Wallace would do fine with Gasol though i just have no idea what you are getting out of him now. Gasol must stay out of foul trouble as with Bynum playing hurt his absence would mean a big edge on the boards for Boston.

Bynum vs Perkins is really a tossup with the knee issue. Perkins must aviod a stupid technical because Big Baby isnt long enough to defend even a wounded Bynum, though on the other end he may take him away from the basket by facing up from 15 feet. Bynum must stop Rondo from getting to the rim. I wouldnt be shocked to see him take a hard foul against Rondo early in the series.

Both teams dont have much help on the benches though the subs will surely come into play at least one game due to unforseen foul trouble. Lamar odom needs to have a big series espcially if Bynum's minutes are limited. Tony Allen must be effective enough at PG to give Rondo some rest and also help guard on Kobe on the defensive side.

Celtics only lead was 2-0 at the start of the game, then it was all LAkers an Lakers should of neVer let them win the 4Quarter but it doesn't matter Lakers rule..

Just kill me already. Kobe already impersonating Jordan, as if Jordan ever would've gotten eliminated in the Finals by 39 points. We remember that nigga, nobody forgot, no matter how many photo ops you stage with your daughters. See ya Sunday. The Celtics played as bad as they could've played. If they learn how to box out, this **** is over in 5.

I hope the Celtics run them right off the F'n court.
