I expect you to miss the point. But I will make one more attempt to explain especially if you promise to show up online for the NBA draft next year.
The fact is that a very small number of trainers get a disportionate number of the best young horses. These trainers cant possibly run all their horses at Saratoga so they send them out of town or simply delay running them because they can only race so many horses in a given race. Then there is the factor of impressive maidens or winners being bought and given to these same few trainers. The competitive balance that used to exist, no longer exists because the few control the many. It isnt about what HAS happened at Saratoga, it is what HASNT happened.

Again Pletcher, McLaughlin and Assmussen each all have more two year olds training in places other than Saratoga than Rick Violette has total horses.

Violette clearly has more 2yo debut wins at Saratoga over the course of this decade than two of the 3 trainers you mention.

He's also easily tops all trainers for best group of 2yo's unleashed so far this year with Worstcasescenerio, Bulls and Bears, Not Macho Any More, Capitalisim At Risk, and Fenway Faithful.

Again - you said that four or five guys get all the good 2yo's .. what you mean is that they get a high volume of choicy homebreds and expensive yearlings.

Just like Rick Violette dominates these 2yo races at Saratoga because he goes out and gets athletes without fancy pedigree and conformation.

You are having comprehension issues also but dont provide any oo the comedy that PG1985 does

I'm mostly messing with you - but who are the good Pletcher and McLaughlin 2-year-olds we have seen so far?

I read that here a few weeks ago, though it wasn't substantiated. It makes sense, his profile has been drastically reduced the past few years. I remember vividly that one weekend he and Bailey won almost every stake on the shed at the Spa.

If you meet him, don't let him tell you he's taking you to see Rock Hard Ten...it's a trap.

This would be an interesting time for Levine to get off the schnide with Rice in hot pursuit of the training title.

CSC 08-27-2009 12:38 PM

Wrong Trainer, but couldn't you almost smell that a mile away?

This is setting up for Levine to get off the schnide next weekend in the Forego with Driven by Success. I have no clue who else is in there but I know hes a definite. His last few havent been pretty but a horse with this kind of speed is always a consideration.

gales0678 08-28-2009 06:09 AM

it's a bird , it's a plane , it's city sneakers, city sneaker by 5 , and another winner for Linda Rice

gales0678 08-31-2009 08:00 AM

todd takes the lead by one as the red hot Linda Rice cools down from the 40% + win percentage

7 days to go

G Weaver continues to impress

Sightseek 09-05-2009 07:33 AM

Linda and Todd are in a tie again - Go Linda Go!

In the past 4 years I don't recall seeing but one or two horses dropped to claimers by Todd - is he really running that many more for a tag?

dellinger63 09-05-2009 07:45 AM

Wait till you see how many Linda's got entered Sunday. Maybe some of the girls can dig out their Rags to Riches 'Girl Power' T's. I do hope Linda Rice gets this. If I remember right Pletcher has 19 going in the next three days and Rice 15 (many who are coupled) Great 'side bar' regardless.

Linny 09-05-2009 07:49 AM

Too bad Linda couldn't get Gitchee Goomie and In Te Domine into different races.

If he is, it is because he can, because no one is claiming....

Hooray for Linda!!! :tro:

Crist is right, the condition booked played right into her training strengths. When you win the training title, but you are only 7th in $$ won for the event, that tells you a little something.

maybe so kev, but she won a lot of races on the dirt and also won some turf routes with impossible horses that had never stretched out ever before

Marty, she won a total of 2 dirt races for the entire meet...and both of those were races that were taken off the turf. In races that were carded for the dirt, she was 0 for 12.

11 of her 20 winners were turf sprints (all 5 1/2 furlongs). So there is 13 of her 20 winners right there.

gales0678 09-15-2009 07:52 PM

linda can silence all doubters next year by 1 simple move - keep her horses for the 6 weeks on nyra grounds , if she does that and repeats her effort i will be the 1st to say great job ....well see where she stables
