alot of the Ole Miss points were due to turnovers. lots of short fields for Ole Miss. Rebel defense played good (figured out that single bump and run coverage and blitz the rest of the defense would throw off their timing routes.... great game scouting and coaching by Nutt).

This keeps up and you can sign me up for one of those Utah National Champions T-shirts. I'll even wear it to Gulfstream on Donn weekend.

This is all Alabama self-destructing.

You're watching Shula's recruits choke a fat one. I wish we could fast forward 2 years.

SniperSB23 01-02-2009 08:32 PM

Was fun while it lasted. Nice tackling.

It is? How about the fact that Alabama has been overrated all year and played above their heads (a testament to Saban's coaching) and the fact that Utah is a nasty team that gets no respect simply because they play in the Mountain West?

I just like seeing that douche Barry Switzer eat his ridiculous pregame words.

Yes that's exactly it, Danzig. Please post more on the subject. It's always a joy reading your posts.

Yes because when a team goes up 3 scores in the first 8 minutes of the game it's because they're awesome and the other team isn't choking and throwing picks.

Ok I'll leave this thread to the experts who post the obvious after the fact.

Bama isn't choking, Utah is just outplaying them. The game is far from over, however.

yeah, it is...and already seemed momentum had shifted before the half.

SniperSB23 01-02-2009 09:32 PM

That was big

Cannon Shell 01-02-2009 09:38 PM

Not to be the master of the obvious but the bowls are different than the regular season in that the coaches get a lot more prep time and can focus all your energy on one team and its schemes as opposed to the regular season where you are usually working on those things for a few days and often are looking ahead past seemingly beatable opponents.

SniperSB23 01-02-2009 10:27 PM

Corner blitz in a no huddle situation? Wow, what a call.

SniperSB23 01-02-2009 10:31 PM

And now a hook and ladder in traffic? Not sure if that was ballsy or stupid. It worked so I guess ballsy.

philcski 01-02-2009 10:43 PM

Utah should be National Champions. There, I said it.

Coach Pants 01-02-2009 10:45 PM

Champions of the Sugar Bowl. That nonsense wouldn't happen against Florida or Oklahoma because they wouldn't let their best player and his inbred family talk to an agent a week before the god damn game.

It was the book scandal last year. And now the inbred fat f.uck family talking to an agent this year. I cannot wait until these Shula recruits are completely off the roster.

Smooth Operator 01-02-2009 10:48 PM

Oh my, a MWC squad gets the best of that big, bad SEC two-seed.

LMAO

Too bad PSU didn't get a chance to stuff the SEC number one ... instead of being sent to the slaughterhouse in Pasadena.

They have as good an argument as anyone, love it that the BCS got another doomsday scenario with Utah, USC, and possibly Texas all having an argument that they should be champions.

ddthetide 01-02-2009 10:49 PM

congratulations utah, you showed up to play and Bama didn't. piss-poor finish to a good year. VERY disappointing.:(

timmgirvan 01-02-2009 10:51 PM

those bums cost me 30pts on ESPNs contest! Shocked, I am.

I don't think it would have mattered. Utah was better in every aspect of the game.

Hey morons did you notice how many times Wilson was pressured and sacked? Did you see the Outland Trophy winner in the god damn game?

God damn morons. You're all f.ucking retarded. Utah is not the national champion. What they faced was a team that had a secondary exposed by Florida and Utah fed on the game film. Plus the best offensive lineman in the country out with very little depth at the position and BAM! A god damn upset.

YOU'RE ALL GOD DAMN IDIOTS. USC SUCKS. BIG TEN SUCKS. YOUR TEAM SUCKS. THE WHOLE GOD DAMN SEASON SUCKED AND ALL OF THE TEAMS SUCKED COMPARED TO YEARS PAST.

NOW SHUT THE GOD DAMN EVERLIVING F.UCK UP

I laughed!

Coach Pants 01-02-2009 11:03 PM

yeah Phil Donahue even if Smith played it wouldn't have mattered. That's like saying Florida doesn't need Tebow.

AH DURHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Only if Smith was a lockdown corner.

Coach Pants 01-02-2009 11:08 PM

F.uck you mormon loving tards. It was all quiet except for a prediction of a s.hit conference team. Gee I wonder what spurred that prediction? Was it Boise State? Maybe you should propose like that cheerleader did to the running back. Pick Utah's QB.

Total yards 353-208
Turnovers 1-3
First downs 22-15

quarterbacks:
27-41 336 yards 3 tds-0 ints
18-30 177 yards 1 td - 2 ints

Doesn't look like an 'upset' to me. Bama got rolled by a better team.

Yes and those stats wouldn't have changed much with Smith in the game.

 Enough already. Anybody would have said the same thing watching the game tonight. Was he going to play defensive back to stop the Utah QB tearing them apart too? Whatever. JP Wilson sucks and got exposed. No shocker there. I love how you summarily dismiss the MWC just because it's not a 'BCS' conference. I'm a Big East guy, that conference was TONS better than the Big East, ACC, and Pac 10 this year.

The fact is their secondary got diced and they were victimized by a bunch of well timed blitzes that Smith would have had nothing to do with picking up. He certainly would have helped but I don't think he makes the difference.

Pac-10 was 5-0 in bowls this year!

His presence would've made all the difference, punchy. They couldn't establish a solid run game without him.

You're so quick to throw stats around. Take a look back at the Bama-Tulane game. Smith didn't play.

Now try to weasel your way out of that one and say his presence wouldn't have mattered tonight.
