It depends if they allow show betting.

DUMBASS ride by Coa: steered her behind horses when he could've followed the winner out entering the stretch.

Hard to figure out the NY jocks. They ride as if the rail is golden on the AQU and SAR turf course; AND, have even begun doing the same thing at BEL. They might take some lessons from the CRC jocks, who ride an, at least, equally speed biased turf (assuming that is the argument) and, while consistently contributing some of the most ridiculous rides one could want, AT LEAST have the smarts to GET OUTSIDE for the stretch run. No real excuse for getting blocked on the turf in NY (except if you're behind Castellano, and he's obstructing, as usual).

Check out Coa's ride on her in May at Belmont, if you thought today's ride was ridiculous. You'll shake your head again.

I beat her that day with Blitzen Too; so, I'm not sympathetic (though I am appreciative) in that particular case.

No need to check a replay on the winning rides, We all have idyllic memories with those. As I will remember Pedro's ride at Hol, and it's about time today!

Here is a nominee (s),

First race at Hol yesterday, Primed and Poised.......complete stiff job

or on Thursday in the 7th, David Flores on Fanatical

VOL JACK 12-14-2008 10:16 PM

With the end of the year closing in, Rex Stokes threw his name in the ring Sunday at TWP. His ride on Nolans Territory in the 6th was priceless. Worth watching for the guys that think that Jocks don't matter and " it's horse racing not jockey racing." NT should have won by at least 5 lengths.

Anyone have Pastel Gal in the 5th yesterday? Remembered this thread, she was on my horsewatch however I forgot to bet her.

Agreed he's solid on the green, this Gulfstream meet is a turf lovers paradise. You have a riches of trip/turf jockies to choose from.

BTW It's really no surprise pastel won, the way Coa butchered 2 of the rides on this horse.

the_fat_man 07-19-2009 01:22 PM

bump

let's get this thread started again with just about as terrible a ride as you'd want:

The Mig on Lean Machine, DEL-07-19-09_R3.

Guess he had a train to catch.

And, he's a smart dude, too.

If I owned Grazen I would not have been happy with Bejarano yesterday.

jballscalls 07-19-2009 10:32 PM

i'm still trying to figure out who gave the bad ride Andy talked about in the start of the thread LOL

I didn't think his ride was that bad at all. In fact, before the race Mitchell told Christina on TVG that he planned on sitting second and that Grazen was not a need the lead type.

I dont know what he told TVG, the trainer told drf another story

Grazen won the Grade 3 Affirmed Handicap on the lead in June, and trainer Mike Mitchell wanted jockey Rafael Bejarano to employ those same tactics in the Swaps.

That's ironic because 8 minutes before the race he told Christina that he neither gave Bejarano any instructions nor did he think Grazen needed the lead to be successful.

Just watched Passade's last race. Fernando Jara is my nominee. AP 7/8 1rst race. Comments Steadied, altered turn, covers about 10 secs of the race.

Incidently she comes back today w/new rider and looks tough. But at 2-1 ML and probably less at post a severe underlay in a State bred MSW turf affair. Jabber Dabber Doo at 30-1 looks worth a shot IMO
