Hey, they just showed video of Teuf on the 11:00 news, laying on his side at R and R with his splint on. Definitely looks sedated.

MisterB 10-10-2007 11:57 AM

Looks like surgery on the 11th

Grade II winner Teuflesberg, who fractured both sesamoid bones in his left front leg in the Oct. 6 Phoenix Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland, underwent a successful surgery Oct. 11 at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington and is on the way to what co-owner Donnie Kelly hopes will be a full recovery. I certainly hope the recovery continues well and that he can stand in 2009.

Danzig 10-11-2007 08:37 PM

hope he recovers.
could care less if he ever covers a mare, the industry has plenty of others.

his chances for long term survival are much greater if he covers mares.

why is that? i'd like to see him survive first, cover his 110 or so mares is a distant second.

The other poster probably just had the financial concerns of Jamie Sanders in mind, worrying about how she is going to make ends meet in the aftermath of this tragedy.

I meant "meat ends"...Sanders moonlights as a barbecue chef at Bad To The Bone BBQ in NY.

Don't ask where she gets the "beef"...

so much for the teuf partnership...

Riot 10-13-2007 01:04 PM

Seems a rather large train wreck. Unfortunate for all involved.

Unstable 10-13-2007 02:09 PM

I heard it said that the worst thing that can happen to a partnership is success.

She must need to. Without Teuf she was something like 0 for 225 with her other horses. Zero wins in 225 starts. Hard to do.

sumitas 10-19-2007 11:04 PM

Super photos. What a game horse and glad he's doing well.

pgiaco 11-23-2007 10:20 AM

Teuflesberg has left Rood and Riddle and is back at his stall at Victory Haven Training Center. His recuperation is going exceptionally well and he has his old glint back in his eyes....of course being completely spoiled by his "family" there helps out quite a bit. While he's not completely out of the woods he is doing very well.

Riot 11-23-2007 10:46 AM

Great news - thanks for the update!

azerica 11-23-2007 03:45 PM

Thanks for the updates....I really am glad to hear about the happy endings when one of our atheletes get hurt.....
