But I still don't understand jumping someone for saying they cared about a horse.
I cared about what happened to Super Frolic and many other forums were looking for news. So he had a lot of fans out there in horseracing land.

If people don't like the post dont read it, it's not like there weren't many other posts being made today not regarding Super Frolic.

The animosity still baffles me. Doesn't matter if she is "new" to the game. I'm not new, my daddy brought me to the track before I could speak. I still care what happens to them.

Nice, thanks FGFAN. I also love both aspects. And sometimes(ok, many times) because of my primary love, which is horses, I feel at odds with my secondary love, which is horseracing. One could see how this could happen.

In any case, I appreciate MMSC's threads immensely. But if I didn't, I would just skip them. If you don't "get" those threads,,, that's okay. They're not written for you.

Absolutely! Very good. That, and I'm hoping to start a new trend here on DerbyTrail.

Yes, Cardus!! Very well done. That is my intention. I've been known to mesmerize the unsuspecting into a *coma* with my use of the asterick mark. But, notice, I don't always use it. I like to switch it up with quotation marks and caps.

I roll like that.

I'm having wine as well. The new farm is coming along nicely. I just made a 150 mile trek today to pick up 6 gates, some stock tanks and a couple more rolls of Centaur fence. I shamed the poor guy out of a feed scoop, a big-@$$ pumpkin and a bunch of pens with the business name.

And I see that you are a Redskins fan??żż Me too, born and raised in D.C./suburban Md.

Cajun said...I think it was blackthroatedwind who told me that I wasn't a real bettor, and he's right.

That's pretty hardcore. So if you care about the horses you bet on your not real?

Guess I'm not a real bettor either, although there would be others to tell you differently.

Seems like we're all *drinking* now. I'm copying *Suzanne*.

After Super Frolic broke down - I went back to the Asmussen barn to have a look at him - he was in very bad shape in my opinion.

When I asked The trainer who's deputizing for Steve Asmussen and Darrin Flemming about his status - he told me that there was suspensory damage. I asked if he'd make it....and he said he'd know more in a few hours.

I was the only member of the press that day who went back there - I was going to go back again after the last race - however, my biggest bet of the night was in the final race, it won and paid $26.00 - and in the excitement of that..I forgot all about making my second visit back.

Scott Lake's Cantrel broke down as the post time favorite in a stake race on opening day. The post time favorite has now died from the result of an injury suffered during the race in two of the meets five stake races.

And there the two collide, which is what happens on these boards.
But OK, that's a clearer synopsis, I get what you're saying now, well sort of not saying for him.
While I don't make a living at this I do fit in both worlds. So am I real bettor?

ByTheWay, Love the new avatar......although I did like the predator series.:D

Where can we find this paper?

For the proper way to give out a winner, see Harry's PID thread...you know where to find it.

FTFY is fixed that for you.

The Indomitable DrugS 09-17-2007 11:42 PM

It means fucl< that and fucl< you.

I'll giver a look when I make my rounds there.

I'm still deflated from my Retama Park stupidity.

...and we're all lucky you chased that ambulance cuz when there's a veterinary emergency at the track one of the crucial elements necessary to assess and stablize the patient is a pen-and-notepad toting megalomaniac trying to get a scoop...

Congrats.

Ding, ding, ding...I am safe now. No way I can win the "Dumbest Post of the Day Award" after this gem.

I hope DrugS doesn't find out I referred to the PID as an irrelevant outpost of racing.

Congrats.

I watched from afar until he was taken care of and spoke with the trainer as he walked to the track....in the process of him watching yet another loser run under Steve Asmussen's name.

Yep! I believe Asmussen is currently 1-for-26 with favorites so far.

With a few last place finishes and now one dead horse.

Should have let me know you DID have an agenda with that one, PID I will loving always refer to it as the irrevelant outpost. I felt the need to edit my post regarding dinner, but hey I'm in Louisiana we'll eat anything down here.

RolloTomasi 09-17-2007 11:58 PM

Slam him for the redboard, not trying to find out if the horse is okay.

His post read as though he thought he was the only one at the track that day that gave a **** about the horse. That's what I was commenting on.

I'm sure I misread it, though. Must have been all the "I"s.

He should consider sending his string to Arthur Wendel next year.

The real reporters there that night had two more stake races to cover after Super Frolic went bad.

I was the lucky one who got to make the half mile walk in 45 degree weather with no coat.

Indeed.

Todd Beattie isn't doing much better. Besides a winning first time starters - he's been blanked.

blackthroatedwind 09-18-2007 12:05 AM

I want to thank Miss Storm Cat for starting what turned into a most entertaining thread. Super Frolic was an extremely admirable horse who surely deserved a better end, and the same could be said for many horses and people in this game, and at least this thread offered us all some humor to help make it through this brutal game. Speaking of brutal games, CJ, I just got home from the Os game. Did I really need to watch that for four hours?

It also allowed DrugS yet another opportunity to redboard. But, then again, what thread doesn't.
