You're talking about hips 3674, 3846, 4946, 5133 and 5139 right? I like Read the Footnotes as well... his babies looked really good when I saw them last year. Hope he's a success.

As always, thanks for the help Cajun. I have not followed the sales that closely in the past, but I loved RTF.

Thanks for the HIP numbers.

You simply judge a mare by her race record. For the record, that's your opinion. Others judge a mare on numerous other factors such as appearance, pedigree, demeanor.

if she's from the right family, race record doesn't mean squat for sure.

I love that! looked it up - seems to have been used in 1999 on a Ky-bred colt, but that one never raced. Not sure if that means you can re-use sooner?

I'd like to see the world's quickest Jockey Club rejection. :D

Or perhaps they'd call and say, "Can you please explain the origin of this name?"

not that it really matters as the filly was way out of the DT price range but she was a lovely individual...the first foal out if a kris s mare who is a half sister to multiple stakes winners and stakes producers....the fact that the mare herself only earned 10K is pretty much irrelevant, esp. in book 4.

or we could just call her fred.

The more I look the more perfect Regulus is. There are four royal stars and two of them are Aldebaran and Regulus. And with the dam name being Cat Woman the royal star in Leo is absolutely perfect. I think you found the best match we can get based on sire and dam yet I agree that it may not be the best name for a filly. I still like it more than most of the other nominees.
