It appears that Dellinger and Declans Harbor will be put up for a $14K Pick-6.

The profit question is superfluous because the contest said you had to put in $2400.

blackthroatedwind 06-20-2007 04:17 PM

Honestly, if the 10 doesn't come down ( and I have him for a few bucks in the Pick-4 ) it is absolutely insane.

Maybe S will toss in a lap dance for them anyway.

If they ask nicely.

I guess all the negative dropdown/questionable favorites couldn't win.

If the 10 hadn't knocked the 8 over the 8 was going to win the race. It was not a tough luck DQ for anyone who actually needed the 10 ( which includes me ).

philcski 06-20-2007 04:37 PM

Pretty robust P6 pool, all things considered- $419k is a lot for NY with a $72k carryover.

WELL DONE!!

blackthroatedwind 06-20-2007 04:42 PM

A serious congratulations to Wiphan who hit the Churchill Pick-6 which paid $41K. Hooves, Herkhorse, Sniper and Cannon Shell all had five out of six at Churchill.

Fine job.

Well it's tough luck in that those on the 10 were just about as home as you could get. Having your number taken down in the final leg of the sequence, where you hold multiple tix, is tough luck any way you slice it, whether it was deserved or not (which it most certainly was).

It is an it isn't. The 8 was going by the 10 and the only reason he didn't was because he was severly fouled by the 10. That is the easiest kind of DQ to live with. Look, it only cost me a little over $500, so I'm not pissed, but I also feel like I should have won under no circumstances.

Free piece of Blueberry pie for the 5 out of 6 guys?

wiphan 06-20-2007 05:09 PM

Churchill P6 Thanks Steve.

Got real lucky today; too bad I didn't pluck down the $ to make the play. The $39k+ profit would have been real nice and it would have allowed me to travel across the country anytime and anywhere Sumwonlovesyou was running. I will take Brad Free's Handicapping 101. I am new to handicapping and have learned so much from listening to your show and reading a lot on DT. Keep up the great work. I hope to see you at Churchill if Sumwonlovesyou runs on the 1st. Thanks again.

I would like to congratulate all the winners for extremely fine work.

I took down my own winning entry, but that was my choice and do not feel offended I am not counted among the victorious.

Just a DQ away from a very chalky Pick 6 for me. :o Sorry for you regular players that probably means nothing, but for me I was pretty proud.

Congrats to those who did so well!

wiphan 06-20-2007 05:13 PM

Pie

Chuck,

If Sumwonlovesyou runs at Churchill or Arlington I will bring you a whole homemade pie of your choice. Just let me know your preference. My wife makes excellent desserts

Pieces for people satisfied with 'pieces'... Whole pies for those requiring proportionate satiation.... ;)

Great job by Wiphan on hitting the gruesome Churchill carryover. Big ups to Dell as well. Honestly, with my actual bankroll, I probably would have left Odintz' charge off of the real deal. This 2500$ limit contest actually taught me a thing or two about ticket structuring. I appreciate the oppurtunity to learn, as this board is a never ending source of useful information.

Thank you for all the congrats on my first ever "mock 6". I also want to apologize if my post about VM offended anyone. In hindsight, it was the wrong thing to do, whichevr way u slice it. I need to learn how to think before taking such action. Once again, I'm wholeheartedly sorry for my improper post.

Good Luck to those alive in the Wood 6, both actual and contestual (is this even a word?) tickets. Let's take this thing down - D H

Should actually be credited for hitting it twice as one of my pics in the 6th was scratched and I inherited the favorite. And 10 5/6's. Chuck you can have my pie or at least 9 of the slices. LOL

Of course I was in the office all day and didn't get to play. Also I would never throw that much money at a pic 6 unless I had heard, "Mr. Dellinger you have less than a year to live." Thanks for putting it together. The analysis side was paricularly good and should be a must read for everyone.....

pmacdaddy 06-20-2007 06:23 PM

Steve/Andy,

Thanks for organizing contest. Lots of fun and good learning experience.

Not 100% sure how this leaves me feeling about the pick6... Definitely see the benefit of deeper tickets and covers. Unfortunatley that probably limits me to playing pooled tickets with a group. Although I might pony up for right Carryover and sequence.

Biggest + for me is grading system, which I will be focusing a lot more on. Also think the "C" cover strategy will be something I try in pk4's as well.

Congrats to winners and Good Luck to those playing Hollywood.

Thanks again,

Pat

Screwed up the system and now I am alive to the 1,4 twice and the 9 once.
