I echo this sentiment. Everyone have fun. Hopefully we all get to gather up at Churchill once or twice this spring/summer. And, I know, Saratoga for all you New Yorkas. :)

Hey, I had a dream Sumwon won this race. Really, I did.

Of course, I also had a dream I was married to Paul Simon but having an affair with Art Garfunkel, so take from that what you will.

I did not have both dreams the same night.

Too funny Nicole...I had a dream she finished 2nd....payed $18.40 in the middle and $11.80 on the end.

My Fellow Partners

Best of luck for our horse this week. I thought I'd be able to make it but plans have changed. I will be driving (actualy passenger) somewhere in NJ, BUT, I have a wireless card and will tune in as I'm going down the road.

If you're driving down the Garden State Parkway Wednesday and see a car swerving and honking it's horn like crazy, you know something good happened......oh, wait a minute we're talking NJ here. I guess I'll just fit in.

All the best to Sumwon!

weather forecast Lexington 4/11

High 58 degrees, Low 39 degrees, few showers, chance of precipitation 30%

Hickory Hill Hoff 04-08-2007 05:33 PM

I wish I was there! But, I'll be leaving work at noon on Wednesday and heading to the little 'ol OTB in Fort Plain, N.Y. to watch her run.
My dad, my two best friends and the locals will be rooting her on! I know this is a "tough spot" but there are no "world beaters" entered. She'll be a price and here's the chance to see what she is made of. Once again...thanks to Steve, Chuck and all the Dee Tee partners for making this happen. This is a dream come true for me!

Chestnut Gal 04-08-2007 06:37 PM

Good Luck to Sumwonlovesyou
and all the connections.
Very Exciting!
May all come back
safe and sound.

Here's hoping that the weather guy is a lousy handicapper (weather handicapper, that is :) ). Hope to meet a lot (all) of you who are there and the best of trips to SUMWON!

Its exciting to have a runner at Keeneland, would love to see her make a good showing and move in the right direction. Good luck.

Okay - who is gonna be there, aside from me? !!!

Riot 04-09-2007 04:59 AM

ARG! Monday morning weather, Wednesday now 70% chance of showers, high 60.

We may not get to see her on the turf at all!

miraja2 04-09-2007 08:48 AM

Whisper to Me, Quiet Action, and Orate all look tough.
I agree, however, that it does seem like this is the right time to put her in a race like this. New trainer. New surface. It makes sense to me to put her in a spot like this to see what she can do.
It might be a tough one to win, but I hope she runs well for you guys.

I'm going to be there. I'll probably be all wrapped up in a parka, but will be proudly wearing my DerbyTrail.com hat. First time at Keeneland, first time in Kentucky, first time seeing Sumwon. That's a lot of firsts. Maybe that means she comes in first.

I've read a lot of people saying they're going to be a work on Wednesday. I couldn't even concentrate if I was at work on Wednesday. I just hope I can stay on the road on my way to Keeneland.

See you all there on Wednesday

Buffymommy 04-09-2007 10:50 AM

Please someone that is there get a picture of her in the race and post it! I would love to see her running ESPECIALLY if it is in front at the wire!

Keeneland does not take races off the turf, and by that I am saying it has to be a pouring rain for days and days, not just one day.

With the exception of last Fall, I could count on less than 10 fingers the times I've seen races come off turf in the last 7 years.

Hopefully, Somewonelovesyou remains right where she was pointed.

good luck to sumwon! it's going to be so exciting to see her on the track, with the jock wearing that blue and lime green!

Ditto this! :)

Go Sumwon Go!

OUCH The first time the DTer's run there horse I can't whole heartedly pull for you guys. I wish you all the luck in the world and a safe trip, BUT that is where I have to stop we are running one in there that I have had all winter here in Florida. Quiet Action wintered here in Ocala and has been at Keeneland for a week or two now. I think she is ready to fire a big one.

But dont forget that Keeneland loves to show off the polytrack and will take more races off the turf than in the past, especially since the entire field wont try to scratch rather than run in the mud.

Easy solution. Scratch her for the good of the team. LOL
Just hope they both come back healthy.
Good Luck

Ah-ha! You're right.

Important NEW angle that I have not thought of. And a very good one to remember.

Agreed, just got done handicapping the card...STILL they're all just three year old fillies, anyway you look at it...she will be a price.
The bottom line is long as she comes back "fit and fine" after her effort.

She is the "horse to beat"...with that said, hopefully Sumwon will be the one who does that :)

How exciting, and good luck, will be watching your filly, and you've got Leparoux - are you going to be there?

Can we hold you down and put a DT hat on you? :p

pmacdaddy 04-09-2007 09:23 PM

Here is the Sumwon's write up in the "Closer Look" from DRF:

Speedy filly has been in front after the opening quartermile in each of her last four races and is certainly the one to catch today; unfortunately the presence fof Christies Treasure, Quite Action and Nola Star will make the front end a rather busy place to be; gets a class test in addition to a turf test.

Really looking forward to Wed...

What the DRF doesn't know is that Chuck has been training her to relax. Hopefully, she's able to take up off the speed and then motor home. However, she may be too keyed up... just like all the partners at trackside... and everyone else from this site.

Riot 04-09-2007 09:53 PM

Oh, wow, being "the one to catch" seems the kiss of death to me <g> - now, the first half mile is going to be the most stressful part of the race for me, I'm going to be holding my breath in agony seeing if she will remember her lessons and be willing to relax off the pace.

I didn't think this damn race would be this exciting!

I agree. Haven't seen too many wire jobs on the poly or the turf. She won't get the lead against these. She will have to relax off the pace.

Laying 4th hoping the others get carried wide and she finds her way through on the inside kicks away at the tote board and then lights it up;)

We are going to scratch now

pgardn 04-09-2007 10:38 PM

Old habits are hard to kick when all the race day memory stimulation hits home in that equine head. I hope no one strokes out if she runs and goes right to the lead thinking she is going to win. This would not suprise me. Waddya think C.Simon? Really gonna try and hold her back or kinda let her decide?
