I dont care about past games I care about the present matchup. THis particular matchup was 4 points only because of the Pats history. Brady's 11-1 record pregame should have made the Patriots huge favorites. I did not have any stake in this game whatsoever. But I would never ever take the Pats if that game was replayed. They should have been blown off the field. San Diego is the better team (and I really was not sure which team was better before the game). I always try and bet the best teams knowing that I have the greatest chance of winning, but I also realize the best team does not always win on the scoreboard. After watching that game, it is clear to me San Diego is a better team that lost.

But good for you if that was easy money. I think that was hard earned money. I would have been sweatin.

And N.O. was the better team last night, but they didn't cover. And the Bears were the best team today, but they didn't cover. And the Yankees are best baseball team year in and year out but they don't win the World Series. Again, the only way to make money, just like horse racing is to bet underdogs. Find the live ones and bet them. The best teams lose all the time.

I have better luck finding better teams getting points. College mostly. But the pros occasionally. The biggest one this year in the pros for me (really my brother) was St. Louis getting points at Oakland. We wait patiently. Oh well you got the money, so you got the bragging rights. Congrats.

-SD's defense is stout. Pats will be hard pressed to make hay. However, SD and NE play the same 3-4 with speed rushers. So did the now departed NY Jets. Pats will throw a few wrinkles, but Brady will make his plays.

-Sidelines. Belichick vs Schottenheimer. Like asking if you want a blow job or a kick in the balls. The choice is obvious.

New England 26, San Diego 20

appears I wasnt too off base...and I'll take the blow job every time

Leave it to Marty Ball !!!

2 dollar, that loss had absolutely nothing to do with marty ball. That had to do with two very bad turnovers( the last one was utterly retarded)

i'm going out on a limb.

i think new england wins this game but loses to eventual super bowl champ indianapolis. they'll trade a 4th round draft choice for randy moss and then come back 16-0 in 2007 and play san diego again for the afc championship.

i just have a feeling.

Isn't Sid Gillman still the coach of the Chargers? He's known for his innovative defense, they may shut out the Patriots.

JJP 01-16-2008 06:12 PM

How about New England against the spread? 2-7 ATS in their last 9.

Hoss,
Where Vegas is really getting killed is on the over, they can't make it high enough. I don't have the exact # but during the middle of the season other than the Indy game they went over 10-11 weeks in a row.

IrishofNDMan 01-16-2008 07:13 PM

I'd like the Bolts to beat the Patriots, but this game is probably going to get UGLY! I will probably load up on the Patriots -14.

NoChanceToDance 01-18-2008 02:45 PM

Can't see this being a high scoring game, myself. I think that Chargers +14 is a massive bet.

horseofcourse 01-18-2008 05:52 PM

I see no possible way the Chargers don't cover this. Call me crazy, but haven't they won 8 straight games?? NE a great team, but they are starting to get figured out...just not figured out good enough as someone mentioned they're 2-7 against the spread their last 9. If I were a betting man I would completely load up on the Chargers this game. I guess if Rivers is out that changes things...but even then...the Eagle backup and Kyle Boller beat the spread against them. Very easy money in my opinion to be made here.

Danzig 01-18-2008 06:11 PM

i think the patriots win. and then win the super bowl. i know some teams have played some hellacious games against new england, managing to get themselves up for the game of their lives...but the pats still find a way to win. i don't see sunday being any different. and the chargers are pretty dinged up--rivers has a partial tear of his ACL, i don't see him playing. and i'm not sure how much LT will get accomplished, he's pretty sore as well.

Looks like pointgiven got a hold of horseofcourse's password. I think the Chargers will cover but I can see about 600,000 scenarios where the Patriots blow them out.
