I love the Rocky movies, Jerry... I can't believe I forgot them! DOH! :o

yup, I dont know anyone who doesnt get inspired by that. Oracle and I remind each other whenever those movies come on. Only thing worthwhile movies, Stallone has made. It like captures everything about the underdog and the struggles of life, it also encapsulates the late 70s and early 80s to a tee

I was born in 1980 and I swear I am an 80's girl, through and through... I miss the music from the 70's and 80's! :(

I LOVE 80S MUSIC TOO!! Duran Duran, Rick Astley, Michael Jackson great stuff

timmgirvan 11-29-2006 01:53 PM

I hadn't thought to make a list set in stone....but here's a few that are overlooked and underrated: Joe vs the Volcano....The Punisher(tom Jane)..Secondhand Lions....My Man Godfrey(Dick Powell).. LOTR...RainMan(KMart sucks)...The Princess Bride(he's only mostly dead)...Silver Streak(wilder and pryor kill me)....Scrooged(Murrays' quirky Christmas)...To Kill a Mockingbird(nuf said)....Silverado(much fine talent).....Miracle(hockey,eh?)....Larger than Life(Murray again)...Man on Fire(Denzel)....Jason Bournes Trilogy(Altho the Books are great too)....Frequency(Caveziel and Quaid)...GrossPointe Blank(Quirky slice of hitman and love). OK...everybody hit the video stores!

Surprised "Walk the Line" with Joaquin Phoenix and the lovely Reese Witherspoon didnt make your lists. Incidentally I had a small 10 second cameo in this movie as a stage hand appx halfway through the movie in the early part of Johnny Cash' tour. Best thing about the experience was getting to meet Reese. Shes even lovelier in person than she is on the big screen.

Your performance notwithstanding, it's a terrible movie.

I thought it was a good movie... Reese did a great job.

timmgirvan 11-29-2006 02:21 PM

I thought it was a decent movie...definately not a "puff" piece on Johnny Cash!

My performance, LOL! That was funny. I thought it was very well done but opinions are like aholes, everybody has em. If you think Reese is pretty on the screen, its a shame if you never get a chance to see her from a few feet. Wow.

Having had the opportunity to hang out with some of the women Matt Leinart has dated, lets just say I am not easily impressed. Reese is piping hot.

And she's real too... can't imagine what Ryan Phillippe was thinking when he cheated on her, but hey...

I met him as he was on the set for a whole week. Very arrogant and pompous. Probably would feel right at home on this board, but I dont need to mention any names now do I?
His bravado is not all that around a 240 pound, well toned man, trust me.

I honestly thought it was pretty bad. I liked the acting but I just thought it was pretty paper thin and I hate how they made Cash's wife into such a one-dimensional shrew.

uscrules 11-29-2006 02:46 PM

shes okay but couldnt hold a candle to Reese. Good god man, get some thicker glasses.

I know you're very big in the business but I don't think Reese Witherspoon is winning ANY beauty contests against Abbie Cornish.

She has apparently already gone 0 for 1.
