I have that book...it's great to look over.
But if we did a book of truly great horses...how long a list? Because if its too long, (and I think sir barton would be even further down with us being 15 years into a new century) you would water down the meaning of greatness. The bid should be on a list with sir barton? Or secretariat? That's why I said it would be a long list. And I don't think a list of greats should be long. |
All I know is, after watching the season premiere of "Dancing With the Stars" last night, if Victor maintains his current level of footwork, he won't have long to worry about the show interfering with his riding. ;)
(No shame, Victor. I gots two left feet myself.) |

I think the one true measure of greatness is wins and losses.
The notion that the best horse is the one with the best Beyer is folly. I also think there are levels of greatness ie; great horses, all time greats and the greatest of all time (insert trumpet music):zz: |

so I guess Pepper's Pride is the all time greatest |

AP is great for his time, but he needs a BC win to cement himself as anything close to an all time great.

A) Most of them don't run enough B) If they do run for a long time, everyone questions the type of horses they're running against. |
