As well as Irad is riding IMO he got too cute with Mshawish. I didn't see the head-on (god forbid NYRA shows it at some point during the 15 minutes it took to get a DQ) but Irad could've gotten to the outside sooner.

I would love the 10 here, but I think the 8 is going to make the pace and the 9 take back.... Hopefully they hook up and the 10 wins. Ill be live on huge pick 3's. Question though.... Why no win bet? I think Wise Dan will lose, but I cant narrow it down to 1 or 2 horses. You seem to love the 10, if he wins at 10-1 and you dont hit the double wont you be disgusted?

El Kabeir was training great according to chatter and was first time Lasix for today's fourth race. The anger factor with Irad Ortiz being disqualified in the previous race also helped sharpen the focus of getting to a lead along the inside. As disclosure here, I really liked El Kabeir and was against Royal Son - how many short priced Pletcher/Velazquez charges (6/5 or less) have gone down in flames over the last 38 days? I know of five just sitting here in the 2yo races.

This horse never had a clear seam to get off the rail and Manny Franco did a great job with Sinatra turning the race into a head-to-head with Set the Sail by keeping Mshawish pinned inside. My view was that Irad forced himself into a seam which really was not there. I also think that Sinatra would have caught Set the Sail if not knocked off stride in the lane.

I will watch the replay on this one. Five Iron was in deep water for the final 5/16ths after splits of 23+/46+.

To be fair, the final 110 yards was 5.88 seconds after a mile in 1:33.20. Amazing performance by Wise Dan.
