Jim, I loved that horse. I had a note from his last turf run to wait until they cut this horse back to a sprint on turf and to catch this horse at a huge price. Look at his turf start two back, it was the clue to this run.

Congrats and I hope you hit the double.

Thanks, Jim, Senator!

I didn't have time to post it, but splitting a pk4 that pmac punched where we are live for $1 to the 2,8 and 3,4 in the last two legs. Going to cover a bit since I think the 5 is a bit of a danger here and the 2 could be a live longshot closing in the last.

The eighth race saw some incredibly poor rides including Taylor Rice again showing that she only understands how to stay attached to the rail.

Joel Rosario altered course three times from the top of the lane (driving to the inside, pushing in the middle, and then pulling to the six path in the lane).

Junior Alvarado, fresh off the last to first on Rumble Doll in the seventh, did his usual "hung three wide going nowhere fast" dance.

With all of the garbage rides, Irad Ortiz again puts everyone to shame with a solid win on class rising Invading Humor.

Taylor Rice should have understood that there was no pace on paper and she had the post to take the spot that Irad wisely did there.

Agreed. I will never understand how the rider of a mid-pack to late closer can put so much traffic between their mount and the front while riding the rail. At very least, secure the pocket heading into the turn and take your chances against the pace (which turned out to be soft) from the half-mile pole to home.

Spa 9

I am hoping the 2 needed that last race off the long layoff, should get a very good mid-pack trip here with the 3, 5 and 11 likely to bang heads up front.

Way to grind it out. Too bad we didn't get lucky on the pk4. Quite a game...

Thanks guys! Pat, I am sorry we couldn't get that pk4 home, but a big pk4 or pk5 is awaiting us at this meet. We have flirted with a few big ones only to go 4 of 5 or 3 of 4, but it will hit sooner or late. There are more of those gems out there.

It is a relief to have nailed that after a week of absolutely horrendous opinions, even worse execution when I did have a decent opinion, and doubting my handicapping. Crazy how fast you can make it up at a meet like the Spa! Went from quite a bit down for the meet to up on one cash.

Hope others got a piece of that too!
