I recall something similar to this being done with Roosevelt Raceway, which also involved a corrupt deal with corrupt politicians and a corrupt District Attorney who refused to investigate the fraud behind the sale of the land to owners who borrowed the money to buy it on the basis that they would run it as a racetrack, which they never had any intent to do. Unfortunately, it did not go anywhere and the land now has condos which were poorly built that had to be evacuated at one point and a bunch of stores that Long Island doesn't need.

I wish those trying to save Hollywood the best of luck, but I have serious doubts about their chances for success.

So it makes me wonder what new client they have who is looking for people like us to sell some damned product to... you know? Like a new list for direct marketing for some damned Indian casino or something?

Kinda think Hollywood is gone forever and that no petitions (or anyting else) will bring it back.

Just one more thing cause I have wanted to say this somewhere and it's as good a time as any...I really wish Santa Anita would do the right thing and call the Gold Cup the Hollywood Gold Cup.

... like how Emerald (they do everything right) - in their wisdom - left the name of the Longacres Mile?

Just wanted to mention that one day.

Back to the petition... I know YOUR intentions are totally sincere and I'm not trying to stop anyone from signing it but when I see what I think is a red flag I have to be vocal. :)
