I don't go there any more.

Wish they would take off the cushion, save it; scrape off the base, and re-lay it. The heave and frost has got to eventually, over the years, cause any base to have uneven places and holes if a horse hits it right. Chuck?

They may simply not had enough jockeys left considering so many of them went down the race before?

I refuse to set foot in WV tracks (and it isnt as though I have high standards) therefore I have no idea what happens at CT but reliable sources tell me that they don't put much effort into maintaining the track or backstretch which is supposedly deplorable. I'm sure this wont endear me to any trainers in that area that can actually read but the quality of horsemanship in PA is shockingly low and supposedly they tower over the WV crew. Of course I also have a theory that management of certain tracks with casinos in this region are hoping for as much bad news as possible to help them in their quest to get rid of racing.

The backstretch at CT is basically the same as it was when the 2k claimer was the staple of the cards.

The buffet isn't bad and they throw together some decent stakes on Classic night!

I have seen more than my share of breakdowns at CT but I always thought it had more to do with the quality of horses and trainers than the track itself.

The buffet is decent. The Sunday afternoon buffet is better than the Friday or Saturday night buffet. The sports bar they opened in the casino is good as well but it's a hike to get to and from the track and nobody thought to put any betting machines near it.

has that ever happened, that a track ran out of riders?? intriguing idea, but i figure they'd have said that was why.

I had a horse scratched at Belmont in the last race one day when 2 riders went down in the previous race, the one riding my horse and the only one left without a mount in my race. But perhaps the ambulance situation was an issue as well? I dont know.
