I know I shouldn't expect you to have any knowledge of football beyond QB rating, but my hope is that others will be able to actually understand everything that's wrong with the offense.

Do you think if they gave Sanchez time he could execute? My answer to this is no. I wish he would turn into a game manager (like Cassel has this year) and I think he would do himself a wonder of good.

The biggest surprise to me is how the defensive is playing, not just recently but all year. I thought they would be alot better then they have been.

What? Did you even watch the game today? Miami had 6 first downs, 131 yards of offense and 3 turnovers. Short of putting the ball in the end zone, what more was the defense supposed to do?

And I don't understand your question.

A little pedigree analysis none of these players lit it up in the NFL. Why do the Jets think Sanchez will ?

Mark Sanchez,
Carson Palmer,
Matt Leinart,
Sean Salisbury,
Rodney Peete,
Pat Haden,
Matt Cassel,
Bill Nelsen,
Pete Beathard,
Vince Evans,
Paul McDonald,
Todd Marinovich,
Rob Johnson
John David Booty.

Cassel has excelled in a run-oriented system where very little is asked of him.

Consider these stats:

Completions: Tied for 21st in the NFL
Completion %: 21st in the NFL
Yards: 21st in the NFL
Yds per Attempt: 18th in the NFL
Yds per Game: 25th in the NFL

Charlie Weis deserves a lot of credit. He figured out what Matt Cassel is best at, short passes and turning around and giving the ball to someone else.

All good stats Nicholas, but he has 20tds and 4int. I think those are the big stats. His team is in first place, picked by many to only finish ahead of Denver in that division and they have thay homefield swagger back. The offense is young and will only get better, I would take Cassel over Sanchez on my team.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion about taking him over Sanchez, but don't throw a ridiculous stat out there say how's he's a top 5 qb this season. That's garbage.

Unless you are saying that you would take him over 28 other NFL QB's out there. Then it becomes a credibility issue.

Its actually pretty simple.

1. Brady
2. Vick
3. Rivers
4. Brees
5. Cassel

So this dipshit is taking Matt Cassel over both Mannings, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Big Ben, Joe "ALL THE TOOLS" Flacco, etc, etc, etc.

Wake me up when he gets banned again.

Thats my opinion. I would take Cassel over anyone, but those 4.... This year.
Im talking this year and 20tds 4int is HUGE. Peyton has sucked. Ben is hurt. Rodgers is hurt, even though he is one of the best in the NFL. My guy Joey Ice is going backwards a bit. I have never liked Eli, Romo sucks. Carson sucks. Who else is?

Im saying THIS YEAR.
I guess 20td 4int is not good.

It's your opinion, it's fine. If you are only using those two categories, then Brees shouldn't be in your top 5.

NTamm1215 12-13-2010 11:41 AM

Cassel's stats compare rather favorably with Josh Freeman.

Cassel:

212-354, 2503 yds, 23 TDs, 4 INTs,

Freeman:

228-390, 2708 yds, 17 TDs, 6 INTs

The Chiefs are the league's #1 running team and are the only team that have two RBs in the top 20 in rushing. Cassel's stats are also inflated by garbage time passing yards earned in a complete blowout in Denver.

Cassel is in no way a top 5 QB. I would take Matt Schaub over him in a heartbeat and Schaub is on no one's top 5 list. Would anyone really want their team in the hands of Matt Cassel with 2 minutes to go in a big game?

Cassel has been awesome this year. Top five NFL QB? Probably not, but is he the MVP of a potential playoff team? Absolutely.

That list of USC NFL quarterbacks is interesting. Some of those guys weren't exactly highly touted coming out of college (Cassel, Salisbury), and some of them were abject crackheads (Marinovich). Peete had a serviceable NFL career, as has Palmer (well, at least until the last couple of years). Haden couldn't stay on the field.
