Threads like this, and all talk of Zenyatta and/or Rachel just sucks out all my energy; it is exhausting to read the same crap over and over again. Barring some sort of catastrophe, I'm singling Zenyatta in my multi-race bets and spreading on the others.

Yes I believe what I wrote. Champions do not chase contenders. What do you think? So you are saying Sherrifs lobbied for the plastic in So Cal just for Zenyatta? Keep digging. |

What makes her a champion? Two wins, each at the end of the season? If that's all it takes, we might as well just cover them in bubble wrap and push them right into the shed at birth. Whether or not you want to admit it, racing in California is completely different from racing everywhere else and Zenyatta had an overwhelming advantage against any east coast horse that would ship in. I really can't believe people still argue this. |

If 2 BC wins and 11 G1 wins is not enough to call one a champion then I must say you have very very high standards. |

Don't make surface an excuse? Why not? Are synthetic and dirt the same? If you are a dirt horse, why would you ship across the country to run on a surface foreign to you? It's not like the connections of the horses you mentioned have been saying they are better on synth...then running on dirt like the connections of Zenyatta. These arguements have been hashed out for months now. Where ya been? |

This is what Zenyattards do. She stays in her backyard all year, beats nobody, then they go "HAY SHE WON BC RACES AND G1'S SO SHE'S THE QUEEN OF EVERYTHING". To argue that they haven't ducked top competition with this 'champion' is like arguing that the sky is blue. I can't believe her campaigns are good enough for supposed racing fans. Your standards are extremely low. |

Two of the four horses you mentioned weren't even eligible for the Apple Blossom. |

Unfortunately, we will never know just how "great" she could have been.
Even if she does win her 2nd Classic, it won't prove she is the "greatest" of all time. I will cheer for her of course because she is fun to watch, and she is a unique individual, but she won't be a single on any of my tickets. "Yay", for whats she's done for racing and 'Yay", for any new fans that she created. Let her have her trophy for most popular. To hear that she is the "greatest of all time" is totally ludicrous. However, to see Goldikova come over here and win her third straight Breeders' Cup mile.. Now THAT will be quite the accomplishment in my book. |
