I live here and I won't go there. I cannot imagine there is a worse place for a racetrack on Earth. Just throw them on the highway instead.

chucklestheclown 09-29-2010 02:13 PM

Listening to sports radio here and just heard a commercial for Hawthorne. If I didn't know better I'd be tempted to go there by it.

my miss storm cat 09-29-2010 02:18 PM

Tell me about Hawthorne when you have time, okay?

chucklestheclown 09-29-2010 02:28 PM

OK, maybe tonight after work.

Dahoss 09-29-2010 02:36 PM

Please do it by pm....thanks.

chucklestheclown 09-29-2010 02:41 PM

Good idea.

Really?

You know I don't want to start a problem with you. If you don't , I'm telling you upfront.

Wow Hossy... your post surprises me.

There have been some pretty ridiculous things discussed in the Pad Lock (and i applaud each one. :D I am not insulting anyone here) and I'm asking someone to tell me a little about their home track and that isn't appropriate?

I just think that's silly.

You know I like you and i won't insult your intelligence with some stupid yeah well you don't have to read it post but really... I'm not exactly asking Chuckles for prefered sexual positions or strangest place he's ever done it. Everyone knows there are a few here who turn almost everything into something about themselves... I just want to know about the damned track and only because he said he can't imagine a worse place for a racetrack.

I know you're not a drama queen and so won't be mortally offended. I'm just sick of keeping my mouth shut for fear of hurting anyones widdle feewlings.

Hope we're cool.

Okay see you here tonight, Chuckles. :p

Dahoss 09-29-2010 03:02 PM

Oh my god.

Relax MMSC. Chuckles is by far the most annoying person here. To have to watch him describe anything is painful. That's all I was saying. Had nothing to do with you at all.

Please don't, we already had to hear about that guy who had sex on the beach for the first time. :D

LOL...Should I be insulted? In a nutshell, Hawthorne lies off of a major expressway and many (mostly closed now) foul-smelling factories. The neighborhood would make people cry to be at Golden Gate. The inside is like an empty airport terminal in some parts, a dingy high-school cafeteria in others. DaHoss might like places like this but I sure the fuk don't.

Dahoss 09-29-2010 10:15 PM

See what I mean?

I'm actually glad they aren't sending MinethatTurd there.

Indian Charlie 09-30-2010 08:07 AM

TFF has Chuckles beaten by a pole.

There is another that shall remain unnamed though that beats everyone by a mile.

And it's not PG.

He's done enough?

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/mo..._races10s.html

"Winless since taking the 2009 Kentucky Derby, Mine That Bird may have only one more yet-to-be-determined start in his career before being retired, according to Hall of Fame trainer Wayne Lukas. "That's their thought," Lukas said of owners Mark Allen and Leonard Blach. "If he runs well they may change their thinking."

Even though he has always sucked, if he was not a gelding he would have likely been retired mid summer, last year after the debacle in the WV Derby.

chucklestheclown 10-12-2010 04:39 AM

That's all they need to do is run him back at Woodbine. But a little late now for that.

my miss storm cat 11-04-2010 01:58 PM

Okay this is completely hypothetical... not at all what I expect to happen.

Again it's not like I've ever been a huge fan of his, it's more that I feel sorry for him.

That said, no delusions of mediocrity on my end.

What if he wins? What if he wins or hits the board?

Yeah I know, I know but what if? Then what?

He's a gelding. Of course you don't retire him. D Wayne has turned him into a morning workout fiend and nothing else. He's very unlikely to finish top 10 in the dirt mile. So he'll likely retire. He has done way more than enough. A horse runs 3 good races in his career and those 3 races are the Ky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes. People are still whining about it. More hilarity. In the end Chip Woolley's one legged pickup truck drive did more for racing than Zenyatta, no?? Maybe not, I think both are hated with extreme passion on this forum!!
