Isle of Giants lulls them to sleep and steals the Pacific Classic to top off the P Val comeback at Del Mar.

Once upon a time they used to run these two races fast.

Once upon a time horse racing was a sport, now its just a business (a bad business if you bet on them).

Thankfully both Crowded House and Fly Down picked the absolute right horse to lose to. If they had run 2nd to Dakota Phone and First Dude instead of Richard's Kid and Afleet Express.. I'd be suicidal right now.

I don't know which group of bettors is more hopeless - the ones who bet Admiral Alex to single digit odds or the ones who made The Usual QT a solid favorite off of his pathetic synthetic track form.

Cassidy for running The QT in the wrong race today, he's the most hopeless.

Make that the 6th horse to win a grade 1 out of the 7 that raced in the Classic last year that are still racing in 2010. I think that number is safe, since Mine That Bird is being trained by the antiquated D Wayne Lukas.

Didn't Richard's Kid win a (in name only) grade 1 last year?

If we all have this mentality, then the Woodward last year would be a grade 1 in name only.

I'm just trying to figure out what you are saying. Are you saying RK was the 6th horse since the Classic to win a grade 1, because I don't think that is the case.

Dahoss 08-28-2010 10:41 PM

Nevermind, you were right. I forgot about Awesome Gem. Can't really blame me there.

DH, I think you know what I was referring to. Anyway I'll say it again RK is the 6th horse to exit the 09 Classic field to win a grade 1 this year out of the 7 that have raced this year. Name me another race last year that can boast that %?
