This horse did something interesting in the race prior to where his form starts in the pic below ...

Name the horse .. and what he did of importance.

Yep. Was 7 lengths clear of 3rd place in the soggy Breeders Cup Mile.

I'm going to have to start posting forms of greyhounds to get something by you and Rollo.

I watched a replay of the '94 Goodwood the other day when we were talking about Bertrando, and Fastness was in there. Not sure what Jenine Sahadi was thinking with that move. I also wonder if that's what kept him out of the BC Mile that year.

That's probably Wild Syn. Won the Blue Grass at long odds.

Correct.

He won the Blue Grass Stakes wire-to-wire over Keeneland's inside speed friendly track in his final Derby prep.

Two horses he beat in the Blue Grass, Thunder Gulch and Tejano Run - finished 1st and 2nd in the Ky Derby.

I could not F-----G believe that when she pulled that move.

A smoother move I've never seen.

The beauty of Keeneland's old dirt track ... here's Wild Syn winning the Blue Grass with Thunder Gulch chugging home a wide 4th. I believe Tejano Run was a wide 3rd.

Yup, he was good from the start.. had a very nice career.

The Indomitable DrugS 06-30-2010 12:43 AM

He was a beast on wet tracks especially.

Who is the only horse to beat him on off going? He was a claimer that turned into a Grade I winner...

The Indomitable DrugS 06-30-2010 12:58 AM

Brutally Frank.

I assume he was named after his first owner Frank Calabrese.

Perhaps the best claim ever made off of Calabrese? - I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
