I see that on The BloodHorse they have announced the probable starters for the Stephen Foster. If Rachel goes there, Battle Plan will eat her up on the front end. Best to look elsewhere at this time.

I think they have to come to NY.... The fillies who beat her are going to that spot, they did not defeat her by much and this is Rachels chance to show that she is back, and she is the same. If the connections run her at Churchill, IMO its them saying she is not the same, and she might never be. Plus its a G1 vs a G2... If they run her at Churchill and she gets beat, it has to be over... Why continue to push on with her at that point?

In The Flesh Baby!

Looks like there are only two listed opponents in the Fleur de Lis , so why ship to run against horse that have beaten her .

Why not get that win under the belt first ???

According to DRF, it looks like the Fleur De Lis for Rachel. Certainly makes the most sense, no surprise.

I like her chances.

Indian Charlie 06-08-2010 02:39 PM

Zenyatta.

Duvalier 06-08-2010 02:45 PM

I'm waiting for the official Jess Jackson press release...I hope he lets everyone know how fit she is for this race. I believe she was about 95.873% fit for her last so she should be getting there now. I think Rachel is great!

You mean it might trigger her muscle memory of beating 3 horse fields? That's a new one, I like that idea.

NTRA thinks so too. Thing is, now they're saying only Distinctive Dixie's a probable besides Rachel. She finished 6th behind Unrivaled Belle, RA, and a 5th place Zardana in the La Troienne. Hmm. I imagine them going through the barns calling 'anybody want a G2 placing for their mare? Step right up, a guaranteed 3rd or better in a G2....'

Dude, NTRA cuts and paste the DRF article.

By e-mail through his public-relations representative, Caroline Shaw, Jackson reiterated that "as long as she continues to progress, we intend to race her with the expectation that she will obtain her fitness level of last year."

Looks like she still won't be 100% fit for the Fleur de Lis...guess we'll have to wait for the next race and next press release from Jackson.

Guess we didn't have to wait long for the next idiotic remark from a Zenyattard.

The comment "fitness level" is funny.

Dude, I don't care. I didn't read the DRF article, and NTRA's running of the article themselves might as well be "We concur." A little tightly wound today, are we? Geez. I got it on NTRA's website, so excuuuse me..
