I was trying to be facetious in print....As always, it doesn't work.

I won't get burned again. Borel gets 100 bucks even if he is riding a goat. I was live to 8 horses last year in the P4 and wasn't smart enough to respect Borels track record at Churchill in graded races.

You know, on Homeboykris, isn't there a point for Dutrow/the Sergio's guy/Joe Torre where it's perfectly clear that your horse isn't good/sound enough to be running in the Derby off three months rest, and maybe you point somewhere else? I mean, isn't there someone at CDI or the NTRA or somewhere begging these guys to reconsider?

For those that don't understand why Homeboy Kris is running, Louie Lazzinaro ("Sergio's guy") doesn't expect to stay heavily involved in the sport with his close friend Bobby Frankel having passed. He is not outrageously wealthy with money to burn chasing a Derby dream like a Ken Ramsey. He simply wants to be able to experience having a horse in the Derby knowing there almost certainly will never be another chance for him. It's as simple as that and I doubt any one of us would feel differently if the opportunity came our way.

Plus it's of the utmost importance that he's invited to the "I had a horse in the Kentucky Derby" Facebook group.

Willie Martinez will ride Noble's Promise should he go in the Derby. Moved from 50-50 to 60-40 after today's work according to Kenny McPeek.

I get the "having a Derby experience" deal, but there seem to be some underlying issues with this horse that would lead me to believe they'd want to err on the side of caution. Plus, the horse makes Mine that Bird look like a good bet last year. If Homeboykris actually runs in the Derby this year, I will almost guarantee the graded earnings format is changed for the 2011 Run for the Roses.

Heard about the work and thought that might happen. Thanks for the update Steve. Those scratches must be looking better, or he's running well enough in spite of them.

randallscott35 04-20-2010 11:31 AM

I hope he runs.

Gonna plunk some cash on Rachel if she goes in the La Troienne? Sounds like she has so much energy she might go enter herself if Asmussen doesn't do it fast enough. I bet they let Calvin do like he always does with her instead of all that screwing around like before.

As for Homeboykris, I totally get why they wanna go. I find it inconvenient for other horses, but I understand the thought processes. There've been worse reasons. I just hope he comes home safe and sound. He can't be in peak physical form right now can he? Has anybody here seem him lately?

Speaking of head case,I saw a recent picture of 85inafifty working out at CD and he is busy looking at the infield like he did in his last race instead of concentrating on what he is doing.

So in reality that means he's 95%. He's not looking for sign the horse can compete, they are looking for a reason not to go.

calvin didn't like the instructions in the last race, they took her out of her usual running style.

ninetoone 04-20-2010 04:45 PM

So, on the off chance that Setsuko gets in, who rides him?
